Reed and Elmore

Watching the pregeme stuff for the game tonight and Mr. Holtz mentioned our DL as the strength of our defense. It got me thinking about exactly how good Reed and Elmore are, so I checked a few draft boards McShay and Kiper and the like and all of them have Reed ranked well above Elmore. My question is what is the reason for the seperation. I always thought they were about equally talented so I was surprised by the dispairity. Thoughts?

I would guess it has to do with which player they feel can evolve into a clay mathews type player - as both are too light to play on the line in the NFL. Their best chance is to play speed outside linebacker and get after the qb. Or kill it on special teams. I hope it works for both of them, but would esp love to see Reed out there with his awesome hair.

Kiper probably has him higher because he's on Reed's agent's payroll and not Elmore's.

McShay may have Reed higher because he thinks he really hot in a Viking sort of way.

Really depends on the team who could draft them...

Brooks Reed has a lot of value as a 4-3 End or 3-4 OLB

Ricky Elmore is going to have to be a 4-3 End so his team pool drops. Of course there might be a 3-4 team that could try him at OLB but I really have doubts anyone is going to try that and Elmore would have some work to do before being ready as a 3-4 end.
