There's a lot of talk about RJ getting dealt, and in the interviews I've heard with him, it sounds like he's even thinking it might happen. I've heard that he won't go to NY, and that 2 teams on his list are SD, and Anaheim. Both teams could put up solid deals. The latest Padre rumor is Nevin, Payton, Nady, and Tankersley for Finley and Unit, but I don't see that happening with Nevin's injury problems, although Finley is almost certainly going back to SD. Anaheim has a lot to offer, and RJ has a house there. Davanon, and Kotchman might be enough to get that deal done. They also have Jenks, although I think he's injured, Ervin Santana, and Dallas McPherson. It's been a great ride with the Unit, but I think it's in his and the D-backs best interest to make a deal. Randy goes back to a contender for the last 2-3 years of his career, and AZ gets a nice influx of young talent.

Interesting trade scenario MT, but I think that the DBacks would be leery of trading for another first baseman who strikes out a ton with a history of shoulder problems.
My guess is that RJ doesn't get traded at all and spends the rest of his career with the Snakes. He has his ring and he wants to stay close to his family (which was his initial reason for wanting to go to Phoenix) so there is no impetus for him to accept a trade. Unfortunately for the DBacks, that would hamstring that organization for the forseeable future with so much money locked up in one 40 year old player.

He should go to the Angels because the Dbacks arent going anywhere for the next 10 years and OC is relatively close to PHX.
If I were the Angels though, I would keep that minor league system intact. There are going to be some stars coming out of that group.

I bet Joe G. Jr. won't be calling the Brewers!
