The Sports Guy was in Houston at the celebrity all-star game. Here's a quick take from him on your boy Will Clark.
"Will Clark was batting third -- 25 pounds heavier, balding, still dipping tobacco, the quintessential former baseball player who seems grumpy about being a former baseball player."
Just go to Page2 on ESPN.com to find the article.

Balding? Thrill's been "balding" since 1989. He was never in great physical shape, either so the 25 pounds thanks to all those beers isn't surprising.
That said, Will Clark will always be my favorite player ever but that doesn't mean I ever want to meet him. Just like Ted Williams, I've heard Thrill isn't always the friendliest of people but then again that's not what I liked about him as a player. He just got the job done and had an attitude that was fearless and clutch, especially in big situations.
Game Face, Thrill.

Kirby Puckett was my childhood hero and after all the allegations that came out about him, I'm not sure I'd like to meet him either.
That being said, a poster of him rounding the bases after hitting the game-winning home run in game 6 of the '91 World Series still hangs in my apartment.

I know what you mean when it comes to memorabilia.
I've got signed Will Clark cards, a baseball (thanks Autumn!), a game-used bat (thanks Autumn!), a Giants hat (thanks NorCalCat!) and an old Texas Rangers t-shirt jersey with his vaunted No. 22 across the back.
For all of Will's greatness (in my eyes) though, there's nothing I'd rather have sports-wise to decorate my walls than nice black and white photos of Ted Williams. I just got one of Teddy and Mickey Mantle together at Fenway in the mid-50's but the lady who sent it to me via eBay shattered the glass.
Whore. :D

Last Sunday, I was 3 rows back of the giants dugout and Clark was throwing gum to all of the kids and talking to the fans. Seemed like a great guy.
