Aaron Peirsol just swam a record time in the 200 backstroke, finishing almost 3 seconds faster than the next guy. But he was DISQUALIFIED!!

Remember this is the same guy who a few days ago criticized the judges for not DQing the Japanese swimmer in the breaststroke after he upset the American.

UNbelievable.

what'd he get DQ'd for?

...And than he won the Gold!

See, whining does pay. :)

Peirsol gets Gold (http://sports.espn.go.com/oly/summer04/swimming/news/story?id=1862948)

He has it back.

The reason given for Peirsol's re-instatement as the gold medal winner read: "The disqualification of Aaron Peirsol was not accepted due to the detail of the reason supplied by the official being inadequate and not in the working language of FINA."

Good for the Austrian. He came in 2nd and stood to have won the Gold if the DQ held up, but right after race the cameras caught him saying to Peirsol "Protest that sh!t." That was awesome.

Would it be too much to ask for these guys to pull their freakin' pants up?

Would it be too much to ask for these guys to pull their freakin' pants up?

Yes, it would.

I'm not even a swimmer and only the threat of sexual predator charges keeps my pants on in public.

Given half a chance, I'd strip off my clothes and cartwheel through the crowded streets of Metropolis like a body shaven acrobatic monkey on speed.

how gay and sketchy were the reasons for overturning it?

Uh, the judge didn't say it in English (this is the international olympics right?)

and uh, he didn't uh, write it down in time.

well glad he won anyway, just teh rulings were very sketchy
