Anyone else see Richie Gardner's numbers in his first year in the minors?

Wow, he has to be one of the Reds top prospects. From missing all of last season to impressive stats at AA in just a few months

Numbers at Potomac(Reds High A)
8-3, 2.50ERA, 86.1IP, 77H, 24ER, 13BB, 80K

Numbers at Chattanooga(Reds AA)
5-2, 2.56ERA, 70.1IP, 68H, 20ER, 13BB, 59K

Wouldn't be surprised to see him get a cup of coffee next fall.

? Gardner pitched for the UofA in 2003 and signed with the Reds that year right before school began in August. I'm assuming you're saying he missed pitching for the Reds last summer but he wasn't officially a Red until he signed.

Gardner reported too late to go to either of the rookie leagues, and didn't get sent to the instructional league that the Reds are in Florida in the fall.

The Reds thought he wasn't far enough along to go to the Arizona Fall League, so they shut him down until the Minor League Spring Training started in Feb.

Richie Gardner did get sent to Instructional League last year after he signed with the Red's. Impressed the Red's in Instructional League and Spring Training and that's the reason he was sent to High A Potomac Cannons.
He also made the Carolina League AllStars along with Brian Anderson and then got moved up to AA Chattanooga on July 5th. Brian Anderson got moved up a week before with the White Sox.

On a side note, this guy is a tool. Back when my wife was in her senior year at U of A, this guy lived a few doors down. He would always be over at her house visiting a slutty roommate of my wife's. Every time I saw this guy he was drinking and it was usually a glass of wine. It didn't matter what day or time it was. He always had a glass of wine or beer in his hand when he came over. Who the heck goes over to a girl's house drinking wine?? I guess he wasn't going for the hard a$$ look. Just saw the thread and thought I would share. :smokin:

Maybe the slut liked wine?
