Howard Eisley accepted a contract buyout from the Suns on Friday afternoon.

Eisley had been unhappy with his diminished role at point guard, where he trailed Steve Nash, Leandro Barbosa, Yuta Tabuse and part-time point Joe Johnson. Because Eisley was owed about $14.5 million for the next two seasons and some of a third-year option, Phoenix had to come to buyout arrangement for most of the money in order to waive him.

Eisley could join an interested team, likely Utah, after he clears the waiver wire Monday.

The moves means saved cash and a slight reduction in cap space for the Suns. It also cements Tabuse's spot on the roster, which is at 14 with forward Paul Shirley remaining on the bubble.

"We are happy to have reached an agreement with Howard that satisfies the mutual interests of Howard's family and our team," Suns President and General Manager Bryan Colangelo said. "We wish Howard the best with his next opportunity and thank him for his professionalism and his contributions to our club."

I cannot believe this guy is still in the NBA. He has the amazing talent of making the people around him worse. Plus he couldn't hit an open jumper to save his life. I am THRILLED he is gone!
