and good for Channing and good for the UA. The competition will make them both better players and secure the 5 spot for the next couple of seasons!

Just wanted to give you props for bringing this one to the limelight! Now that Fox has a starting role (for how long, who knows!), it'll be interesting to see who will eventually come out
on top for the game against WKU. Although we all know that the starting position is won out in practice by outrebounding your opponent, it is surprising to me that Lute would give up Channing's ability to consistently hit the short jumper and his shot blocking. It is also surprising that Lute is choosing bulk over a greyhound. I'm anxious to see what Fox will bring to the table other than his rebounding. I value Frye's 10pts a game and have always looked at Fox as a nice, off the bench, compliment to Channing's game. IMO, Fox's consistency will play into the decision to start as the regular season draws nearer.

Bear Down,

Ha, I was actually looking for an old thread where Ben was pumping Kirk as all-conference by this senior year, never did find it...

I'll remind you of this call for a change in philosophy when Kirk is pulling down double-doubles as a junior. Obviously you don't live in Tucson and haven't seen his night-and-day progress from the time he arrived up until now. It's been a very positive development for Kirk so far.

But don't take my word for it.

"He's making great, great progress," Olson said about Walters. "He's learning the system, getting stronger and his weight is up. He had asked if we would consider redshirting him, but we never commit to doing that."
