Okay, I was wondering if there are any Cardinals fans on this site, because I've heard of them, but I'm not convinced that they actually exist. I figure if anyone, it'd be JMark, but I really don't know how anyone could say they root for the Cardinals without being embarassed.

I personally would like to see them do well, but don't follow them at all, it's just too painful.

I'm in denial, but have always routed for them. I really don't have a favorite football team, but only teams that I like more than others...

Steelers (Dads side hails from Bethleham, Penn...)
Packers (Who doesn't, less'n yer from Chicago, Minnesota)
Cardinals (Home team, yada yada yada, )
Jets (everyone has to like a NY team, this one's the lesser of all evils)

teams I dislike...

Eagles (for their fans moslty, and now TO)
Raiders (just never liked em)

I'll be at the Tampa Bay game next Sunday...so I hope the Cardinals are still alive for the playoffs...First Cardinal's game since prolly 1998 or 1999...can't recall...

Oh well, watcha gonna do  they are the Cardinals after all...

Seattle 24, Arizona 21...AZ eliminated from playoffs...

On the bright side, maybe with all the pressure off, they'll win next week

Cardinals fans??? sheesh...I'm a huge Raiders fan and my dad and I went up a couple years ago to Tempe to watch the raiders and cardinals. I swear to god almost the whole stadium was filled with black. Fights were breaking out in some areas...some cardinal fan got punched in the face!! Any cardinal fan sitting around us got the hell out of there fast, it was great...soon the whole stadium was filled with black and we were doing all these F*** the cardinals chants and we were throwing stuff too. I hit this old lady right in the face with this big black rubber dildo we had snuck in! She hit the floor! And the Raiders won and went to the super bowl that year...then we were so drunk, my dad and I puked, peed, and pooped in the parking lot of the stadium on this car with cardinals stickers on it. Then he punched me in the face and knocked me out, but told me later he was sorry because he forgot who I was at the time. But I told him don't worry and thanks, it was all good. Best day of my life with dear old dad that day! Can't wait for the next time!

Hey...that was my car...I remember parking there in the lot and going down to the river- bank...when I came back, not only was there feces and vomit all over it, but damn drunk Cardinals' fans defiled me beast with a bunch of bird stickers...

By the way, yer story was sick, but very funny...

well, it'll be kinda hard to see the Raiders from Philly, besides, I liked the LA Raiders much more than the Oakland Raiders.

I think the real question is... Are there any Cardinal fans, anywhere? And is this possible?

I went to a Rams/Cardinals game in Dumpe my sophomore year of college and I had an extra ticket to scalp. The only guy I could find who wanted a seat wouldn't give me more than $5 for the ticket, and I was looking for face value ($25, I think). So when I started to walk away he starts yelling that no one wants to see the Cards and that I might as well let him just have the ticket because no one is going to pay face value to see those bums. So I turned back around and told him that I wouldn't want to sit next to anyone with that kind of attitude anyway and that I was just going to eat the cost of the ticket and have an extra seat to stretch out on. He looked at me like I was from Mars and said, "What ... you think you're going to find someone here with a better attitude than mine? This is the Cardinals we're talking about." I chuckled about that all the way through the game and all the way home.

Yay Cardinal fans!!!

Chi, I never thought I would actually feel sorry for a scalper until I read your story. Scalping Cardinals tickets is the punishment for those in the third circle of Hell.

The question that all Cardinals fans, real or bandwagon, should be asking as a result of this thread is: How many years do we give the team in its new stadium before the entire organization is run out of town on a rail?

Lord knows I've begrudgingly said this before, but they have some good, young talent.

Offseason needs
1. A retooled offensive line
2. A shut-down cornerback

Offseason wants
1. A fierce linebacker
2. A runningback

They do these, while keeping McCown at QB...they are going to be darn good.

Knock on wood...

If the Cardinals changed their name to something I could support then I could be a fan.

I just can't pull for a non-threatening bird.
Some suggestions of names with an Arizona motif that I could support:

A vulture, yes!
An Outlaw, yes!
A Red Scorpion, yes!
A Mojave RattleSnake, yes!
A Grand Canyon Rattlesnake, Yes!
A Desert King Snake, yes!
A Desert Kangaroo Rat, yes!
A Western Diamondback Rattlesnake, cool!

Bidwell Jr. said that he likes the name because of the tradition that the name has, and thats why he wishes to keep the name.

Let us not forget that the team that holds the longest losing streak in the NFL of 39 straight games was the Chicago Cardinals until they were kicked out of Chicago.

To me, the name Cardinal means loser.

I rarely admit this in public, but I am a Cardinals season ticket holder. The family that sits in front of me are real fans. They wear the bird hats to the game and go to at least one or two road games per year. On weeks when the Cards are on the road, I flip back and forth to the game to see how they are doing but I mostly flip around the Sunday Ticket to see how my fantasy players are doing. So I am a fan, but not a die-hard.

Crackem, you have season tickets? How many cans of food did those set you back?

I try not to think about that. I pay the invoice when it comes just like I do my car registration- take a hit once a year and forget about it.

They are great seats though. I wish I could get them for the Fiesta Bowl. The Fiesta tickets probably cost at least as much as the whole Cardinals season, and is more enjoyable too.
