niners special teams job. this hurts at this late in the game. Spring ball is probably going to get moved back in order to give whoeever we hire the chance to get acclimated with everything. Should be interesting to see who is hired and I hate seeing all this change with the team. The good teams experience very little change from year to year.

I had the pleasure of having Mr. MacDuff call me while I was up at school in Flagstaff after I wrote him a letter asking him for tips on coaching defense. He called me two days after I sent the letter from his offices at the New York Giants facilities and talked about everything for over an hour and a half and invited me to stay in contact with him at anytime. He is an extremely nice and genuine man and I think the Arizona coaching staff has really been lessened by his departure.

As you all know, he was a great success with the Giants on special teams and I have no doubt that he will be the same for the Niners by the Bay under new head coach Dennis Erickson.

Best of luck to Larry MacDuff and his family with the new opportunity and "fresh" start elsewhere.

"The good teams experience very little change from year to year."

Strange statement when you consider that teams constantly cherry pick coaches from the top teams. Good teams, and the Cats are not there yet, constantly have staff turnover, especially when prime NFL teams come calling.

and Penn state and others. Yes good teams do experience departures like Davis at Miami but it seems to me this is every couple years. Thats all
