McCombs requests Buck be removed from telecast, Fox refuses (http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/story/8092829) .

I like that ole Red went against public opinion and called out Buck. It would be nice if he backed up his head coach but that is another story.

We have already gone over the Moss act. But in this day and age it is kinda cool for someone to call out the overacting of this incident. I don't believe Buck is biased but a panderer to public opinion with his immediate call of the celebration.

BTY why wasn't there a penalty called ? The refs must been worried about beer commericals.

"Shoot the moon" call by Collingsworth was funny.

I think announcers get an inflated self worth sometimes. My favorite instance of this was when Karl Ravitch in 2000 or 2001 said on the telecast of Baseball Tonight right before the players were set to go on strike for the second time in a decade, and I quote,

"I've given a lot of my life to this game, and this dissapoints me to no end."

You've given a lot of your life to the game, Karl? Yeah right. You sit behind a desk and call out lame catch phrases when guys who could crush you like a peanut smash homeruns. Oh, and nice toupe.

He said that, Chi? Wow, what in the WORLD happens to announcers who one day just start assuming they're an indispensable part of the game?

Jack Buck gave a lot of life to baseball. So has Don Zimmer. Karl Ravetch has given it a lot of hyperbole.

Same thing goes for News Anchors...

They all suffer from the elitest disease that clouds one's judgement called the "Dan Rather Effect"...It's where they feel something isn't news until the make it such and where it's not worth talking about unless they've started the conversation...

I know an announcer for YUMA-FREAKIN-ARIZONA who slyly refers to himself as the voice of God because of how smooth he sounds and how fluid his delivery is...

He's in Yuma, Arizona and he's this pompous??? Why...

Red has the Vikings on the market and doesn't want prospective owners to think that there are any major "issues" with the team.

If Buck hadn't made such a big deal about the Moss incident, It would have gone away with little fanfare. By editorializing, Buck made a story where there really wasn't one.

The announcers are supposed to report on the game not make highly opinionated commentary on players and what should be done with them. He should have said nothing and let the video feed tell the story.

According to Chris Collinworth of HBO, the Green Bay fans were saying things to Moss that were so derogatory and disgusting that he could not repeat them. Collinworth isn't a fan of Randy Moss. Chris Carter of HBO added that the Green Bay fans regularly "moon" the bus as the Viking team bus comes and goes from Lambeau field for years.

Two wrongs don't make a right. Police in NFL stadiums need to to crack down on crass and obscene fan behavior and the NFL must give out fines for outlandish crass endzone behavior that can have a negative impact on the children who may view the game.

I don't think I will ever lean on a goalpost again!
