Some kid from Hampton broke the record for the fastest time at the NFL combine, previously held by Deion Sanders, kid ran 4.25-4.29!!!!!! My good lord thats incredibly fast. Other things of note, there was a running back at 252lbs who ran a 4.59 thats one hell of a load coming pretty damn fast. Clarett has been the only player to really hurt himself there so far.

I saw some big white dude beating Clarett's time, I thought he was a lineman or LB, but maybe he was the 252lb running back.

Ive seen where that running back was listed as high as 260+ and still ran that time. As for Clarrett's time, he got beat by both Aaron Rodgers and Alex Smith.
And I saw the time listed as 4.25-4.29 on nfl.com Im hoping to find the full workout results in the next couple days.

I think that the times are misleading because the players that have the most track experience or experience with electronic timing do way better.
The scout from the Steelers had to explain the routine to just about every other player.
On another note, Clarence Farmer ran a 4.6 last year and it doesn't look like he is in the game at this point. His family was pulling him towards baseball. Maybe all of the pulling, pulled him apart.

Hell, I beat Clarett's time, and I scored a 56 on the nerd quiz.

In my experience, nerds are deceptively quick. Must be all that practice running away from wedgie sessions.

They also posess great lateral quickness from trying to avoid getting snapped in the ass with a towel during gym :)

Clarett has been the only player to really hurt himself there so far.NFL Total Access spoke with Gil Brandt, formerly of the Cowboys, and he said that Maurice Clarett is still a good football player even though he did not run a good forty. He said that the main concern about Clarett, in his estimation, was if his head was on straight. Brandt thought that Clarett would be a sleeper pick.
Also, on "Hey Rookie" shown on the NFL channel, the WR coach for the Cardinals said that the Cardinals "Knew" Anquan Bolden would not run a good forty time at the combine and also "knew" Bolden was a stud WR because he used to be the DB coach at Florida where their star DB, who had 9 INTs in his NFL rookie, year could not handle Bolden.
As I said in an earlier post, unless you are used to electronic timing, you won't do well. For some players it is a little harder to pick up.
Additionally, IMO some top players don't want to run as fast a they possibly can because that might mean that they will be a lock to go to the worst teams which pick first.
The players that no one has heard of or that there are question marks on, seem to run the fastest at the combine but there are exceptions, such as Dion Sanders and Marshal Faulk.

The slow time would have hurt him but not killed him, while quitting after the workout made him look horrible. If he is on a roster opening weekend next year I will be very very surprised.

I think 4.2 was my chugging a beer time in high school, but that was wind aided.
