Texas Baseball (http://www.texassports.com/mainpages/ba_index.html)

Texas ranked number 2 Arizona ranked number 10 (http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/college/top25.html)

"The Longhorns (11-0) swept a 3-game series at home against Stanford over the past weekend and are off to their best start since the 1995 team began the year with a 15-0 record. On offense, Texas is averaging 8 runs per game while limiting its opposition to 2.82. Through 11 games, the team has stolen 20 of 25 bases while limiting opponents to only four in six tries.

The pitching staff is averaging eight strikeouts per game with 88 in 11 games and nearly a 3:1 strikeout to walk ratio (88 strikeouts and 33 walks). On defense, Texas is fielding at a .978 clip with 13 double plays. Because of the speed Texas has, opponents have only been able to turn two double plays against the Longhorns." - College Baseball Newspaper (http://www.collegiatebaseball.com/polls/divI/currentpolldivI.htm)

It will be interesting to see how the BatCats measure up to Texas.

It might be a rough weekend. But you gotta take advantage of the chance to watch some good baseball- hopefully the weather will be good and the fans will show up to support the team (the saturday basketball game won't help).

I had plans to go on saturday not knowing the U of A - ASU bball game was moved to 4pm. Kinda a dilemma. Really.

Do I sit inside watch the 4pm game at ASU and pretty much end the day at home with the two kids and wife ? Or do I take my seven year old to the game ? He has his Texas hat ready to go. ??? His cousin lives in Texas so he wants to root for them ?? (I am working on that :) )

I am smiling as I write this but unless a personal change happens at home I'll be at the Texas game with a radio headset on listening to the Basketball game on the radio.

Just don't forget to tape the game so if it's a classic you can watch it when you get home.

The cold of the night is why I don't want to go on Friday. I'll have my seven year old with me.

Thanks for the suggestion. Hey Jefferies on the radio is not a bad alternative to listening to the yahoooos from Fox Sports.

No Yakka for me. :)

I agree 100%. I usually turn off Physiak and Mr Yakka and listen to Jeffries when it is possible.

The tv has about a 5 to 7 second delay compared to the radio. So often at home I'll have both on. When you hear it happen then see it kinda makes you feel like this guy.

Should be a great series. Good for Texas to get a good test on the road early on. Those of you going to the game, take a look at Drew Stubbs the sophomore centerfielder. Will be a top 5 pick next year.

I will check out Stubbs.

Is there a RPI for baseball ? The Cats have really upgraded their non conference schedule.

Yes, but it is a little decieving, Cats are #81, UT #23.

Note on Sunday's game: Anyone with a Catcard can get in free...Even if you don't have one the series should still be worth the price of admission.
