real quick from JC Kevin
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tom Robinson OL Cerritos JC: Perhaps the least heralded OL on the Cerritos team. Five guys from their OL signed D1! Great long snapper, which sets him apart from most OLs. Can't underrate that skill.
Zeonte Sherman DB Yuma JC: Smart, fast DB who got out in December. Versatile. Above avg size for a corner. Played on one of the conference's best defenses. Transfer from Garden City CC where he redshirted. I figure he'll be in the two deeps.
Ryan Patterson DB Pima JC: Pima coaches say that Patterson is a potential NFL guy. He's certainly got the build, physique. Hopefully, he buckles down and gets it done academically. All-Conference. Has the makings of a starter for you guys.
David Sharp DT JC in Kansas: Underrated guy in your recruiting class. Coaches at Highland were touting him at the beginning of the season. Good quickness. Played for a team that hasn't won many games in the last two years. I figure he'll find his way into your two deeps early in the year.
Ray Gurley TE Independence JC: Played in a passing offense. Signed with Pittsburg St. out of HS in Texas. Was a real pleasant surprise for Indy HC Kent Keith, who didn't know what a gem he had at first. Came to the JCFootball.com Texas Combine last year and wowed four-year and JC coaches in attendance. Ran great routes. Had super size and 4.6 speed. Opposing coaches in the Jayhawk Conference said that Gurley was the best TE in Kansas JCs. Like most kids making the move from HS or JC, he needs to hit the weights hard. Would have helped if he had received AA in December. Instead he's at Pima College taking a class or two and working out.
Phil Clark Moorpark JC: Huge frame. All-Conference. I think he'll have to have a year in the program before making a major impact. Gotta hit the weights.
Tommy Briggs TE Fresno JC: Went into season as a 'name' guy, but didn't have huge year. Has the body four-year schools are looking for and good speed. Not one of the top TEs in a huge year for JC TEs. Of course, he landed a ride to a Pac 10 school...so what do I know?
Marquell Stinson LB Fresno JC: Has good size and speed. Should be able to bring some pressure for you guys on the outside. Not a guy I heard a lot about during the season.
