Just got back from the Texas game. A great game for Cats fans. Before I start I have not read one thread yet. I did have on my radio headset on for the whole Basketball game. The Salim shot at the end I listened to in my truck during the rain delay. Jefferies says he was fouled then traveled b/c of the foul then hit’s the shot with .6 left. It that moment, 8-3 Cats in top of sixth, I was thinking this could be a great night for Arizona fans in two major sports. On to the report.

The crowd was announced at 1100. With the Basketball game and the very real threat of rain I was only slightly disappointed. Pretty good amount of Texas fans. Not many on the first base side.

Crowd C. It was announced before the game that a no tolerance policy regarding verbal age . No taunting of any kind or you will be subject to removal. I guess last night it got a little ugly ? The security was heavier then the ASU game. Anyway that put a damper of the fun. I had my headset on my left ear so I could listen to my son and hear the game. After the rain delay the crowd got a little more into it. At the end an “overrated “ chant started. That is getting old quickly.

Team A. The first and second innings were the bomb. The seven run second had no homers just base hits with two Texas errors to help along the way. Our starting pitcher Kevin Guyette was very strong. He pitched the sixth after the delay. Three runs I think one was unearned. No homers from each team. Texas bats did not impress. We must have had 7 or 8 strike outs thrown to the Texas hitters. Again base running cost us more runs. In the second and the fifth. We need to pay more attention on the bases.

Overall A. The game moved along well. The rain started in the top of the sixth with Texas having a man on first with one run in. The delay lasted about 30 - 40 minutes. It rained hard. Of course it became freezing cold after that. When we came back from the delay my son left his Texas hat in the truck. He was looking down and discouraged especially in the second inning. I think I got him to get on the Wildcat bandwagon.

Stars in the crowd. Alicia Hollowell was there with I think Autumn Champion. Alicia really looks so much better then her first year attractive wise. They stayed until the rain delay. Probably less then half came back from the rain delay. Weird they didn’t mention the Basketball final. They did mention Washington losing to Stanford. I expect weather permitting a big crowd out there for the rubber match on Sunday.

Big thanks for the report. I'm really impressed that we've played so well against the #1 team in the country. I was hoping we'd sneak out of the series w/ one win but it looks like we are really on the same level as Texas and can play with them anytime.

Guyette is a solid pitcher and a really nice guy. And Autumn Champion is an absolute knockout- reason enough to go watch softball.
