Smith with the first pick...no surprise but this is where it gets fun
Rumor out of SD: Chargers 28th pick to the Bucs for Simeon Rice
Also Travis Henry to the Eagles, who will not resign Westbrook

No real surprises so far with Brown a Dolphin and Braylon a Brown..

If the Titans dont take Rodgers here, which they wont, they will take Rolle......he's going to drop to Green Bay.

They will regret this.

04-23-2005, 01:34 PM
Just a rumor but supposedly guy on the radio heard its a damn good chance...I think Rodgers doesnt fall to GB and look at the Panthers as being a possibility
Titans pick: I said Rolle and I am sticking to it
Jason Scheer
04-23-2005, 01:35 PM
They offered Westbrook a one yr 1.43 million restricted tender and he has yet to sign it...
Jason Scheer
04-23-2005, 01:36 PM
I figured they would go with Rolle...I think Williams goes to Minnesota and the Cardinals scoop up Rolle, which I am very happy about if they do so
Jason Scheer
04-23-2005, 01:49 PM
The Redskins must be licking their chops..now the biggest question: Green doesnt like his qbs but he does have Warner but Rodgers is staring him in the eye, Williams is not needed but who would be able to touch the Cardinals WR? I still say Rolle but the Cardinals are thinking a bit harder
ZONACAT
04-23-2005, 02:02 PM
Another great draft by Dennie Green. I really think the Cards are on their way to becoming a respectable team again.
Rolle is a great pick-up. Cowboy fans are freaking out about BMW going to Washington (Me Included).
Jason Scheer
04-23-2005, 02:09 PM
I wanna say BMW but with the loss of Smoot...oh and does anyone remember that Derrick Johnson guy (who I think at this point is a steal)
ZONACAT
04-23-2005, 02:10 PM
Johnson will go to the Lions at No. 10. I think the Skins go with Carlos Rodgers but it wouldnt surprise me if they went with BMW.

Charles Rodgers, Roy Williams, And Mike Williams. Holy F'n Shyte.
Gronk4Heisman
04-23-2005, 02:26 PM
Holy f'n **** is right. Talk about Joey Harrington have some options. Those 3 are each better then half the teams primary reciever. Mike Williams in the slot, watch out. With those weapons the lions should be fun to watch next year. Now they just need to convince Barry to comeback.
Jason Scheer
04-23-2005, 02:30 PM
Joey Harrington will be on a very very short leash now. I expect Johnson to fall to Houston but I sense that the Chargers may be thinking about a trade now. There has to be a team that wants to move up
Morgan

I'm thinking they drafted Mike Williams for somebody else. Just speculation.

Joey Harrington,Kevin Jones,Mike Williams,Roy Williams,Charles Rogers... This team should be one of the best offensively as long as they get some OL help...

Roy Williams is 6'4-6'5, BMW is 6'5-6'6, and I believe Rogers is very tall as well.
WOW!
That team is going to be exciting next season.

No joke! I love where Detroit was able to get Williams and in tandem with the other two-just a sick core of WR!

I anticipated this as well, maybe a trade with Minnesota for 18 and a 2nd/4th rounder...
That would answer all the holes on offense for Minny and give Detroit a mid-round pick and added depth for defense. There are so many DE's still available, that this trade makes big-time sense for both teams...
Jason Scheer
04-23-2005, 03:07 PM
There's players available that I didnt think would be. KC should think about Rodgers with the age of Green but I suspect Johnson here or I have no clue really
JMarkJohns
04-23-2005, 03:10 PM
I heard that Johnson could fall into the 20's because he never wraps up on tackles. He just tries to knock the crap out of players and while that's great for a safety, for a linebacker, that's a bad habit.
I've read scouting reports that said he'd be best on the Ravens or a team with a dominant linebacker core so he can inflact his damage and not worry about trying to change his style. A lot of scouts don't even think he can.

21) Jacksonville...Matt Jones, WR Arkansas
That's my guy...Great pick, great athlete; he's gonna be a star.
Jason Scheer
04-23-2005, 04:27 PM
Should be a good player but obviously with guys that are changing positions from throwing to catching it will be a question mark on how he can adjust.

Rolle is a great pick-up.
You are SO full of sh*t, ZONACAT.
When were the Cards EVER a respectable team?
:D
It is really surprising to me how far Mike Williams (#10) and Aaron Rodgers (will he even get drafted first-round?) have dropped. Did Rodgers have any problems at the combine?

I agree 100%...which is why it's essentually the equivalent to a Title for the franchise.
I do think the Cardinals are headin' in the right direction, but they need to complete that deal for Henry and then draft a LB or DT today and then a ****load of DB and S tomarrow.

The Cardinals should draft Adrian MacPherson in the 3rd or 4th round before the Raiders draft him.

JJ Arrington to Arizona!
I like it. I have no idea what they'll do with Shelton, but between Shipp and Arrington in the backfield, Cardinals have a lot of versatility and some good depth with Hambrick as well.
I wouldn't mind trading Shelton for a 2nd or 3rd rounder to take a LB or DT TODAY!

Joey Harrington,Kevin Jones,Mike Williams,Roy Williams,Charles Rogers... This team should be one of the best offensively as long as they get some OL help...Detroit still needs a TE because Garcia and Harrington don't have the big arm to get the ball down the field. Remember TO complained about Garcia not having the great arm. I feel a TE would have been a better pick given their QB situation. Look for Garcia to be "Man enough" to take the job from Joey.
PS: I still don't buy that story of two women "fighting" over Garcia in Cleveland. The woman that was assalted decided not to file charges. Both women were probably paid by his agent. IMO the story was probably damage control after TO tried to "OUT" Garcia. TO is a lot of things and he is also very religious. That may be whay he felt an overwhelming need to try to "OUT" Garcia.
Plus: Detroit should have taken Alex Smith the Stanford TE instead of Stanley Wilson the CB.

The only reason TO felt the need to OUT Garcia is because he is the biggest **** in football and needs the attention. Has nothing to to with his religious side.

TO is the biggist A*****e in football right now. I'm still trying to figure out why he signed a contract last year that the NFL players association recommended that he not sign. NOW he wants to renegotiate since "HE" has a new agent.

I think you mean who *****es and moans his way off one team, getting traded legally to another team, then *****es and moan his way off that team to the team he handpicked only to sign with them and within one year's time, ***** and moan about the contract he was happy to sign while all the while *****ing and moaning about agents, players and coaches along the way?

It's good to see that my Bills are following the strategy of "If he's from Miami, he must be good." Two undersized Hurricanes are not my idea of a good first day.
JMarkJohns
04-23-2005, 10:31 PM
But how many 'canes et drafted early and don't contribute?
Other than Junior last year (injury), even the undersized guys produce. Moss, Portis...If your top choice is gone, draft Miami. It rarely fails.

Cardinals doin' a great job so far. Filling needs and drafting talent
1st - DB, Rolle
2nd - RB, Arrington
3rd - DB, Green
3rd - LB, Blackstock
4th - good chance at some good DT's
5th - need DB or DT
7th - need DB

Maurice Clarett to the Denver Broncos?
They could have gotten him in the late fourth or fifth round.
I just hope he has "really" changed.
I honestly think that the 2005 draft is top heavy with many picks in the first three rounds. Last year was better.

The Cardinals drafted three guys with 1st Round Talent in Rolle,Arrington, and Blackstock.. Eric Green was a great pick as well and will present great value...
4th Round- Defensive Tackle
5th Round- Cornerback or Guard
6th Round- Guard or Tight End

The Card's don't have a 6th round pick, but have a 7th...
If they keep Shelton, they'll have good O-line depth. I might go TE in the 5th.
I like their draft so far. i was mad when they skipped over a DT in the third, but half those I wanted will likely be available in the fourth, so, hey...
BibbysTowelDude
04-24-2005, 01:36 AM
I meant 7th... Brainfart...
Yeah I was kinda hoping they went DT in the third too, but I can't complain about the Blackstock pick in the slightest.. They got three starters out of 4 picks so that aint bad... I think Green will be a better option then Macklin...
I'd really like to see them pick up one of the following DT's Hawthorne, C.J. Mosley, or Santonio Thomas...
I wouldnt cry in they picked up a Brandon Browner,Antonio Perkins,Donte Nicholson,Gerald Sensabaugh,James Butler,Travis Daniels,Jamal Brimmer,Junior Rosegreen,James Sanders,Sean Considine..
Also part of me is holding out hope that Steve Fleming becomes a Cardinal..

Nice pick by the Cards. I know people, such as myself, want defensive but obviously there is sonething about Hawthorne that I don't know because he is dropping dramatically as nobody is taking many DTS. Brown is a solid solid player.
Also my boy Lefors just went to the Panthers where he should get a chance to play in a couple years.

Disappointed that BYU's Matt Payne didn't get drafted, but he will most likely get on as a free agent. He's one hell of a PK, plus he's someone that PR/KR would have to run away from, rather than run through him.

Just to clear up the confusion, I'm not a BYU grad or fan or a U of U grad or fan. I went to Southern U.
I was impressed with Matt Payne and he, along with Todd Watkins and Austin Collie, seem to the be only decent thing happening in Provo.

Injury concerns and arm strength are two reasons... The next time he throws an NFL Style completion will be his first. The player who deserves more props is his sidekick Taylor Stubblefield and John Standeford before him.
Jason Scheer

Kyle Orton under pressure is an average quarterback, which was a contributing factor to his benching. He needs some changes to alot of things
