And how, you're asking, does one become a Gator/Wildcat fan? It was simple logic. I'm a Florida native and I live in Tallahassee, which you probably know is where the Florida State Seminoles call home. Despite living most of my life in the home of my Gators' arch rival I've remained true orange and blue. In 1983 a friend and I moved from Florida to Arizona just to see what was to us the other side of the world. We settled in Phoenix (specifically Apache Junction) as his father could get us jobs there. Being a college football fan I wanted a local team to pull for. Well, ASU in nearby Tempe would've seemed the first choice but a couple of things stopped me. First, they have "State" in the name similar to Florida State. Strike one. Second, their colors are very similar to the Seminoles' garnet and gold. Strike two. Third, the University of Arizona had the proper name and lo and behold, the proper colors! Like I said, simple logic. So I became a Wildcat fan. This was back in the days of the Zendejas brothers, believe Max was the one who kicked for the 'Cats wasn't he? Anyway, I noticed the article about Makovic on CBS Sportsline and decided to drop in. I'm glad to be here, it brings back many pleasant memories of the time I spent in Arizona, I still miss the mountains and the desert. The place definitely made an impression on someone who was used to swamps, the ocean, and green grass everywhere. Be seeing you "Cats.
