In another legal matter, an assault charge against Cougars walk-on wide receiver Kip Curtis has been dismissed. Curtis, a sophomore-to-be from Pendleton, Ore., was accused of breaking the facial bones of a WSU student after being provoked by three men who yelled, "WSU football sucks!" on the eve of the Apple Cup.
