Barry's true colors shining again. The guy is a jerk. Always has been, always will be. I hope Mr. asterick does not break Aaron's record. Check this out.

Former Sox outfielder Ron Kittle writes in his current book that he once asked Barry Bonds to sign a jersey for him to help raise money for charity, only to have Bonds respond, "I don't sign for white people."

Then Kittle wrote: "I said, 'White guys aren't the only ones who get cancer,' but Bonds just turned his back on me and walked out."

For the complete exchange, check out "Ron Kittle's Tales From the White Sox Dugout" (Sports Publishing LLC, $19.95), written with former Chicago sportswriter Bob Logan.

I hope his knee never heals up until he's 50. What an ass.

I don't know why I posted this on this forum. Should be on the MLB site. Sorry guys.

Kittle also said on the Dan Patrick Show that he doesn't think Bonds is racist or that remark was racist. He said he is just an A-Hole.

Why wouldn't that remark be racist? If Kittle says he wouldn't support black charities wouldn't you think he was a racist?

That is a question for Kittle not me.

What? If Kittle had said he would not sign for for black people, he would be labelled as a racist. How can you tell me that is any different from Bonds? This is not his only statement where he has opened up his fat mouth about white people. He has made racists remarks towards Babe Ruth and Jeff Kent.

I guess because he went to asu, it's okay he can say stuff like that. The guy is a total a$$hole who gets special treatment. He does not sleep in the same hotel with his team. He does not eat with his team. All I see is a guy who used steroids to get ahead. Like they say, "what goes around comes around." Maybe this knee injury will keep him from breaking the record, and if it does, I will not lose any sleep.

Hey man I just saying what I heard Kittle say live on the Radio Wednesday. I never once said I thought just what I heard the man say. If you have issue with what I posted than take it out Kittle. IMO there is a reason why Kittle backed off.

What else do you expect from an EX-SCUMMIE baseball player.

Stew, I don't think anyone is questioning what you said, just questioning what Kittle said in open forum.

The reason I referred to you was because you did not answer minora's question. I got the feeling you were defending Bonds by saying the question was for Kittle. Anyone could see Barry's statement was racist. If Kittle had said to Bonds what Barry said to him, he would be getting crucified by the media, and the public in general. If Barry had gone to any other school besides asu, I bet you would feel differently.

Again Kittle said it was not racist so since Kittle said it was not racist than Kittle would have to answer to why he did not think it was. Now If I thought it wasn't a racist remark then you could ask me. So again to sum up for those who don't get it Kittle said it wasn't racist and not me.

Bonds has gotten booed more than once at an ASU baseball game in the last 2 years by the way.

I have no idea if this is true, but considering Barry's father died of cancer, it's really freakin ironic.

Karma, it's a *****...

Bonds Blasts Kittle for Comments in New Book
Jun 9, 4:27 PM (ET)
By JANIE McCAULEY
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Barry Bonds blasted former White Sox slugger Ron Kittle, whose recently released book quotes the San Francisco star as saying "I don't sign for white people" before a game at Wrigley Field 12 years ago.

"Who is Kittle? How long did he play? He played in our league?" Bonds said, lying on a clubhouse couch before Thursday's game against the Kansas City Royals. "Ha! Do you guys believe that? ... Do you guys know my life history a little bit? ... One, you insult my children, who are half-white.

"I was married to a woman who was white, so let's get real. I don't even know the guy. Tell him he's an ... idiot. Somebody said he wanted a piece of me. Tell him I'm at 24 Willie Mays Plaza and he can come get me anytime he wants to - with pleasure. Don't insult my family."

In Kittle's book, "Tales from the White Sox Dugout," he writes that he approached Bonds at his locker in the visitors' clubhouse at Wrigley Field about autographing some jerseys to be auctioned for a cancer charity. Kittle retired after the 1991 season, and Bonds and the Giants were in Chicago to face the Cubs.

"It's the truth. I don't lie," Kittle told The Associated Press in a phone interview Tuesday. "I tell it as it is. It's unfortunate it happened. And I didn't bring it up to sell the books."

Kittle said the book's co-author, Bob Logan, asked him to write about the good and bad aspects of the game.

"This was one of the rotten things that happened," Kittle said.

While he was furious at Kittle, Bonds said Thursday he was pleased with the progress of his surgically repaired right knee. But he dismissed a report that he hit soft toss in the batting cage Wednesday, saying he was just playing catch.

"Hey, Murphy, have I touched any of my bats?" he hollered to longtime equipment manager Mike Murphy. "I don't even know where they are."

Bonds has had three operations on his right knee since Jan. 31, the most recent on May 2 to drain fluid and examine an infection. He has not played this season.

Bonds said he isn't ready to guess when he might be back in the batter's box. Bonds has a routine doctor's appointment Friday to have his blood tested and another Sunday. Trainer Stan Conte believes Bonds could be off antibiotics sometime next week.

Will Bonds he back this season?

"I still don't know," Bonds said. "You guys will know when I'll be ready. You'll see. There's no reason to discuss that stuff until I'm with my teammates on the field."

Bonds said in spring training he could miss half the season or even the entire year, but has been more optimistic recently about a return. One popular timetable - though the club won't make any predictions - has Bonds returning sometime around the All-Star break. He turns 41 on July 24.

Bonds is third on the career home run list with 703, 11 behind Babe Ruth and 52 from tying Hank Aaron's record. Bonds batted .362 last season with 45 homers and 101 RBIs and walked a major league-record 232 times on the way to his record seventh MVP award.

I don't know. I know at leat a couple of people who have dated people of ethnicities other than their own and yet they still said derogatory things in private. Don't ask me what the purpose of these relationships is but I have experienced them.

I hate Barry Bonds, and I consider him the worst ambassador for the sport of baseball that I could ever imagine, but . . .

Doesn't anyone else think that this may just be a ploy by Kittle to sell some books? I mean, would you have picked Kittle's book up off the shelf at Borders if it wasn't controversial or if it didn't have this attendant hype? I'd venture to guess that 99.9% of the book buying public has never heard of Kittle, and that his sales would have been in the teens if he didn't have this little tidbit in the book.

Just like with Canseco naming names in his book to drum up sales, and then going on every talk show known to man to defend himself (and thus gain more publicity), I think this is a tactic to sell Kittle's book. After all, it's not as if the book came out, people read it, and then by word of mouth this story came out. The story was released as a precursor to the book so that people would be interested in buying it.

I'm not saying that this exchange didn't happen, I'm just saying that you have to look at every factor before coming to the conclusion that Bonds is a racist and would say something like this. I also think that Bonds' denial is a pretty good one. It's kind of hard to label someone a racist when they've created children of the race that they are supposedly prejudiced against.
