I know everyone thinks that Mac's apology was fake, but whio knows? Maybe he did see the error of his ways. Lets see if he actually does make an attempt at change, see if the players notice a difference. If he doesn't- dump him. But lets at least give the man a chance.

The players, fans, media, president of UA, Livengood... all of us can give him a chance. However, will recruits? I doubt they would want to enter into this situation unless they are not able to get a schollie at another Pac-10 school. This is the really troubling thing.... if Mack stays on, our recruiting base (albeit, the recruiting base he has built the last two years) will probably erode away.

Mack needs to go at the end of the season. The University did the right thing by not firing him at the bequest of the players, giving them ultimate power. By relieving Mack of his duties at the end of this season, they would do what is best for everyone in this situation. The program is in a state of disrepair under Mack and there's no getting around that. Recruiting is shot for this season anyways making the end of the season the perfect time to start the healing. I hope that Livengood is clever enough to know this.

PS IMHO, there is no way Mack can stay. While I agree with the notion that many are to blame, he is the guy most responsible for the chaos. His apology might be sincere, but it's too late as the damage is done!

I'm just saying if the players publically state that Mac has greatly improved then the damage might not be completly irreversible. If there is no acknowledeged improvment, I have no problem getting rid of him. Also, in the Arizona Daily Star it reports that recruit Solomen Smart said "I'm glad to hear the coaches are staying" It seems like Mac's recruits havn't lost all faith in him- perhaps they dont understand exactly what happened to cause the turmoil so they arn't as outraged as we are.
Like most fans i'm not happy with the direction our program is headed, but i think every man deserves a second chance- and i think that these last 2 games will be just that.
