Rush Chalk?
Brandon Rush, the most coveted player remaining in the class of 2005, spent Monday on Kansas' campus and apparently is going to take his decision down to the beginning of the fall semester.
Rush, a 6-6 wing from Mt. Zion Christian (N.C.) Academy, already has visited Illinois and Indiana. He apparently also had interest in Oklahoma at one time. It's still unclear if he visited USC, but the Trojans could be a player in the race to nab his services.
Rush, who declared for the NBA draft and then withdrew, told the Kansas staff that he didn't plan on committing anywhere until he had a chance to discuss his visits with his confidants, according to a source close to the situation.
None of the schools that are chasing him have an issue with Rush going to school for just one year before entering the NBA draft.
Kansas starts fall classes on Thursday, USC does so on Monday, Illinois starts on Aug. 24 and Indiana on Aug. 29. Rush wouldn't have to be in class on the first day of the fall semester, but likely he couldn't miss more than the first two weeks and still be admitted and eligible to play.
Note: If Rush goes to KU, I would put money down on an NCAA investigation. Not that I am implying KU is doing anything sketchy, its just that everything Ive read about Rush somehow relates to his goal for money. He'd be a mercenary for a year in Lawrence so what would it matter to him to take some boosters' cash and run?
Again, just my opinion.
