Says it had nothing to do with health but rather performance. Thatway to be patient Joe. They should trade him and let him go be a pretty good quarterback for another team because the Skins are ruining the kids confidence

It's Jason Campbell.
And the Skins are awful, they should just throw in Campbell right now and get him so experience. My Boys are going to put the hammer on them monday night.

They won, didn't they? Vs. a top-5 defense when all is said and done...
Geez... Watch out Eli Manning! He sucked the first half, yesterday.

Brunell is Gibbs' guy. He has been from the day he brought him in last year. Gibbs is loyal to a fault, and it seems loyal to HIS guys. In the history of the NFL, no quarterback has had as bad a year as Brunell last year, and Gibbs stuck with him until there was almost a fan revolt here in DC. Ramsey came in and played...ok. Compared to Brunell he played like Joe Montana, but I would have looked good vs. Brunells stats. So Ramsey was named the started over the off-season, and subsequently looked like crap ALL pre-season, while Brunell looked like the old, Jacksonville Brunell. It was only a matter of time before Gibbs would go back to his guy.
Ramsey got hurt and Brunell came in and was more efficient. Not huge numbers, BUT NO TURNOVERS!!! I am a Ramsey fan, BUT every coach that he has had, has had no confidence in him. Spurrier stared Danny Wuerffel over Ramsey for crying out load. I don't know if he is a poor practice player, or not as cerebral as some would want but for some reason he is not a coach favorite.
And remember the STAR of the Washington Redskins is Joe Gibbs. Period. I know he had a tough year last year, but he is the star. The fans will still give him the benefit of the doubt.
So, ZonaCat, bring it on. Get ready for an a$$ whoopin'.

I can't wait to see DeMarcus Ware in Brunell's face Monday night. I will be there... nothing better than the first home game being Monday Night Football. Oh the beers to consume!

Ramsey's a turnover machine...
Gibbs did say he was waiting to see one of the two step up this season and clinch the job. I hate quarterback controversies.
Oh...
If I were a Dallas fan, I'd be concerned about Bledsoe making it through the game Monday night. He took four sacks against San Diego, and will likely take some huge hits against the Redskins. You can bet, with a statue like Bledsoe standing back there, Greg Williams is going to be blitzing Dallas all night long. One shot from Taylor or Arrington and it's lights out.
The Redskins are not nearly as bad as people are making them out to be. They have a great defense and a solid offensive line. They moved the ball consistently against the Bears defense all game. They just stalled in the red zone. Washington's one of those teams that can win consistently if they manage to score 21 points. In the last three weeks we've had to play Pittsburgh, Baltimore and Chicago. Those are three of the top 5 defenses in the league, and our starting offense moved the ball against all of them. Our receiving corps is vastly improved, and Portis and Betts provide a solid rushing attack. All we need is competent quarterbacking and we'll be very tough.
Being that the game is in Dallas on a Monday night, a situation that never plays out well for us, I expect Dallas to win. But it's going to be a close game. The big question for Dallas is who will be their quarterback at the end of the game...

Gibbs benches Ramsey...
Thank God...That guy is terrible. The Skins are wasting one of the best defenses in the league with this garbage offense, and a running back who doesn't really fit well with the system they run. Its a mess over there, and its sort of a shame because the league is better when the Redskins are better.
I loved the Skins growing up, before Snyder and Spurrier took over, but I really hope they can go out and help themselves in the draft next year. If D'Brickashaw Ferguson goes #1, with Bush, Ahmad Brooks, Greenway, D'Angelo Williams and Mathias Kiwanuka in the top 8 along with Leinart and Vince Young, perhaps they can get one of these QB's and give their offense some much needed assistance.

I disagree. I think you're looking at last season. Have you seen Portis play much this season?
His stat line against Chicago was 21 carries for 121 yards with a 5.8 yard average. That's just one game of course, but Gibbs has restructured the running offense to feature Portis more around the edges of the defense, while using Betts between the tackles. Last season the offensive line was crippled with injuries. This season they have a great offensive line adapted to the skills of the available running backs. So far this season the Portis/Betts combination has shown it can move the ball effectively against some of the best run stopping defenses in the NFL.
The passing game is also going downfield more. Swapping Coles and Gardner for Moss and Patton is already showing to be a huge upgrade to the wide receivers. These guys can get open downfield.
I agree that the quarterback situation is unfortunate, but still contend that the Redskins only need a competent quarterback who protects the ball to be successful.
Now, don't talk to me about the special teams. I close my eyes every time we punt or kickoff...
