Props to ESPN for chosing USC-ASU over Florida-Alabama for its gameday telecast this week. It will be nice to see the show broadcast from a Pac Ten venue other than the LA Coliseum. Hopefully, the ASU fans will represent the Pac Ten well. Here's the official story:

...with a 12:30 kick-off...man, it is going to be hot as hell.
I've been to a couple of Cardinal games in late September where the kick-off was at 1:00. It was sheer hell!

is it bad for me to want USC to steamroll ASU? i mean i hate USC and all but although while i think ASU has a great team this year, i just would feel very warm and fuzzy seeing them put into their place and having their asses handed to them by USC.

I think asu is going to win this game. USC's defense is not as good as last year and asu's defense is better than last year. I think this is the game that ends USC's shot at a third consecutive national title.
I also don't think the UofA will beat asu this year. This asu team has a very good shot at a BCS bowl. Next year is another story. The Devils lose some key personnel and the Cats return a lot.

How much are you going to bet on this Irish? :wink2:

I'm not pulling for asu but you have to be impressed with their team. We might not like them, but I'll give them some props. Even though they lost to LSU, a game they should of won, they moved the ball very well against the Tigers. The Devils defense is above average. As long as they don't suffer any major injuries, especially to Robinson, they have an excellent chance at a BCS bowl.
If they can get by USC, their schedule is very favorable. The UCLA game would probably be their hardest game and I don't think the Bruins defense can stop them.

Irish,
If you've read any of my posts this year, you would know that I've been extremely high on ASU. The Devils have a very nice team that has played terrific football up until this point, sans two blocked kicks against LSU. That being said, USC is in a different category than every other team. I'm not sure that any other team would have survived everything going wrong for SC early in the ballgame like happened up at that pit called Autzen. I just can't see lightening striking twice and SC will fly out of the gate. ASU needs USC mistakes in addition to playing flawless ball to win this game. Frankly, I don't see that happening. No disrespect to ASU intended.
Also, IMHO ASU is the 2nd best team in the Pac Ten, but not the team best equipped to beat USC. Cal and UCLA with strong ball control teams that can keep USC's offense off of the field, probably pose far more of threat to the Trojans than the quick strike, vertical passing game of the Devils. The lack of an ASU ground attack combined with the high risk Devil Defense (they blitz, go for turnovers and give up a lot of big plays) are not the ingredients to an upset. I like SC in this game and ASU for the rest of their season.
Bearing Down on Nov 12 At Cal Posing USC's Biggest Threat IMHO, Since Cal Can Run The Football and Is In The Trojans' Heads,

I think if ASU survives the initial onslaught..they still have little chance and here's why.
ASU won't be able to establish the run at all and Carrol will recognize this. Because ASU is an obvious passing team, if they get 3 and out or have to punt quickly, they are giving the ball right back to the best offense in the country. If ASU had a more balanced offense I think they would have a better chance but because they don't I just can't see them winning this game

USC, IMO, is unstoppable by anyone in the Pac 10 this year, flat out. Even Cal, even ASU on the road. They are just too good of a team, and their confidence only makes matters worse. If they lose, it will be in January.
ASU has a solid team, but their BCS chances go bye-bye this week.

I don't know about any of you guys, but that Sam Keller kid is good. He is the type of player opponents love to hate. I can't stand him because of his cockiness, but if he was on my team I would love his "confidenece and brashness". His passes are on the money and his receivers seemingly never drop the ball. Plus he has like 10 TE's to throw the ball to on any given play.
Having said all that ASU is going to give USC all they can handle for 2.5 quarters and after that the USC dominant OL will take over. I read on another thread that USC is a 17 point underdog. WOW! I would say that is easy money.

I looks to me that ASU can beat just about anybody at home and with this chance on center stage to beat the #1 team in the nation they are going to do so! Sam Keller is so good! He has so many recieving targets to throw plus his passing opens up quick runs by the backs because the defense is so keyed on the passing game. ASU will win and it will ruin my weekend!
Hopefully USC does not have a player that had a loved one killed in Iraq or ASU fan will go Malcom Kerr on him!

Keller took some tough hits this past weekend and it will only guess worse when SC stops the running game.
Pete Carrol will work on the first quarter mistakes (Oregon) and I expect a tough work week for the players and feel they will have something to prove....... :fur:
SC will unload on Keller, can't wait!

Sam Keller just pisses me off. What is it with those twinkle fingers after he throws a touchdown pass? It reminds me of High School cheerleaders during a free throw. Somebody told me he does it because he has the "magic touch". What an idiot. Maybe he was a high school cheerleader?

This is where the loss to LSU hurts (ASU and the PAC) so much. Even with a loss to USC, Arizona St. may have had a chance to make a BCS game. Letting LSU get away coupled with this weekends' expected loss probably drops them out of the BCS picture.
