It's sad that someone like this guy represents an otherwise normal fanbase. I have a bunch of friends from Texas, including Jawann, Fendi and Nic, and they are all normal, classy, fun people.

Horn fans are just so angry with Josh Pastner for owning the state in recruiting that it trickles down to other areas, too

I think that these types of posters are just pimply adolescents that are incapable of writing a witty reply or jab. They can only respond by flinging a bunch of empty expletives, which is about the extent of their pitiful vocabularies.

The PC lets them hide their scrawny little physiques where no one can make fun of them. Sexually inept, they need to spew homophobic diatribes as a means to validate their sexuality, which is limited to self gratification.

For the record, people are upset with Hal Pastner, not Josh. Also, that e-mail is terribly lame and not from me. What is the point of posting someone's drunken ramblings on a thread? Guess the board is a little slow until the first game of the year. Ben, do you not get many e-mails like this? I know other moderators say they average about 100 e-mails a day like this from various drunken idiots from various schools.

This board is slow? Come on, you've been here enough lately to realize that the Proud Tradition and the football boards are as busy as ever.

Texas fans should just be happy that they got D.J. Augustin and hope that he brings the kind of success to UT that Jerryd Bayless will bring to Tucson. Losing a recruiting battle shouldn't bring out such mindless vulgarity from anyone's fans.

Hal Pastner personifies class, integrity and hard work.

As for emails, I get a ton everyday, but the vast majority are highly complimentary of the work I do here and many others are writing to learn something they have a question about UA or Pac-10 hoops. That said, I definitely get more email from fans of other schools than of UA.

The all-time worst was the flood of hate mail I got after writing that Arizona should never have lost to a Seton Hall team that wasn't even decent in the first round of the 2004 tourney.

Those fans went nuts and sent some hilarious email.

Unfortunately, most of my family is from Texas, thankfully I was born and raised hear in Tucson.

That being said, and after a lifetime of Texas exposure (family reunions, etc.), I believe the comments made by the Texas fan were in fact meant to be classy and represent an average articulate Texan's response to a stressful situation. Realizing that Bayless’s decision tomorrow may be swayed by the commitment they just received, the use of colorful metaphors is only meant as an expression of envy. The liberal use of cock sucker is just his way of saying howdy and good luck.

Remember, this is a state where a ditch is considered a canyon, the world is mostly flat, TexMex is anything you can pour hot cheez-whiz on, and the author of the e-mail is more than likely from a her not a him.

Texans are so dumb they can't even get their biggoted anti-gay marriage ban right. The text of their constitutional amendment:

SECTION 1. Article I, Texas Constitution, is amended by
adding Section 32 to read as follows:
Sec. 32. (a) Marriage in this state shall consist only of
the union of one man and one woman.
(b) This state or a political subdivision of this state may
not create or recognize any legal status identical or similar to
marriage.

Anyone else notice that means that the state can't recognize ANY type of marriage or marriage equivalent for anyone? In fact, it could be argued that they COULD recognize gay marriage (because part (a) makes it different than normal marriage), but not straight marriage because of part (b).
