The Giants and Angels discussed a swap of Edgardo Alfonzo and Steve Finley at the winter meetings, but the Angels weren't interested at the time.
The Angels did ask Giants GM Brian Sabean to keep the offer on the table. It could be revisited in spring training if the Angels can't do better.

I would like that froma Giants perspective and I think it does help both teams. Does Finley still have 2 years left on his deal, or did he sign a 2 yr deal last offseason?

Anyways, thought some people on the board would be interested in this.

I believe Finley signed a two year deal, so he would have just one year left.

What kind of contract does alfonso have?

Yeah, the Angels are trying to drop Finley like a bad habit, but I think Alfoso wouldn't do much for the Angels, they already have DMAC and Figgins to play third with Kennedy and Figgins at 2nd.

The Angels and Padres were also in talks for a Klesko/Finley swap, but tat has cooled, Klesko is due over $10million (I think).

Orioles offered Javey Lopez for Erstad, but the Angels balked also...

Those are some deals that I would have made for sure.
