View Full Version : Did you see the lineup of pretenders UConn has played to make it to the FF?

What a joke. As somebody said, Calhoun really must have something on the basketball Gods. The only time they've made it to Final Fours (twice), they played an 8 and a 10 (I think).
Contrast that with with murderer's rows that Arizona has had to go through over the years. We sure could use some of those propitious draws now and again.

OK . . . looking it up, they've played some good teams in the Elite 8--and lost every one of those games. The only Elite 8 games they had won were against much, much lower seeded teams.

Well, in the defense of those two teams, the 99 and 04 teams were absolutely nasty and would have run through anybody, as evidenced by their rings.
Other than that, UConn is a perpetual underachiever.

Didn't they play Alabama in 04' as an #8 seed?
It does seem that they have been given some nice roads lately.

Yeah, they played Alabama and Gonzaga in those games.

UCONN looked less than impressive in any game they played this tourney. It seemed like the first team that didn't beat themselves would win and George Mason was that team..

To their credit, they played their best game of the tournament today. They still didn't play like the kind of dominant one seed they were supposed to be, but they played well today. GMU was just better.
To me this was the best game of the tournament, not only because it was close, went into OT, and eliminated UConn, but because it was played at a high level. Both teams just made play after play.
