Tough day for Bobby. I thought he made a lot of poor reads to put himself into positon to catch the ball. Its early...but I saw a lot of poorly run routes and fundamental errors on his part. And I didn't feel like he really wen tafter the ball to make the catch. After the hype in the early part of camp, I was a bit disapointed with his effort today. He needs quite a bit work and I'm not sure he has the tools or agressiveness to be our big receiver. I'm not saying he's as worthless and Jefferson, but really needs some more work. Not a bad guy to have on the depth charts though. IMHO

Congrats to my man Jason Argos. He had a catch and a few yards after the catch today. He had a little bounce in his step the rest of the day and its great to see the scrubs get a little PT.:)

Bobby was, quite simply, not good today. Also, the backup OL was, quite simply, not good today. The first team OL was better against the first team D than the backups were against the backup D, but it looks to me like the OL is going to be the weak unit, and perhaps the achilles heel, of this team. The D is going to be very strong, and I think we'll have a good vertical passing game, but the running game is going to be problematic. To win, we're going to have to rely on our excellent defense, big plays on offense, solid special teams, and MINIMIZING TURNOVERS. Except for the "big plays on offense" part, it sounds kind of like the Tomey formula for this year until the offense fully gels next year.

I agree Bobby didn't look that good, but he was well covered also. Then again Johnson. Steptoe, and Money Mike, all made some terrific catches in traffic. I expected to see some things out of Bobby too. Maybe the hype was too much for him.

Bobby didn't have the greatest of days today, but in talking to Willie after the game, he still gave him tons of credit for the strides he made this spring. I think his overall performance in the spring carries more weight than today's game with the coaching staff.

My big gripe is that after Chris Henry got a knee to the kidney, or whatever had him laying in the middle of the field, they didn't put in Terry Longbons so that he could get a few carries. A couple of the fans and I, one who played with Longbons, speculated that he coaches may be holding him out so that he will be a big surprise for BYU.

Another fans that was familiar with Derke Robinson said that he was a good running back that would definatey see time after what he saw today. He speculated that Robinson would get time at KR so that Steptoe would get a break.

I REALLY don't think the coaches are going to hold back anyone for the BYU game.. We don't have ANY running backs that have really stepped up, and Longbons hasn't had enough carries to even be considered as the starting RB.

I don't think they would hold anyone out but there has to be a reason why he isn't getting any carries. It's going to be very interesting once Derke comes in.
