How is Oregon closer to the top 25 than the Cats? Do these idiots get paid for these columns. I believe Oregon lost 4 in a row to end the season and most were blow-outs. Why would they be close to the top25?

Let the Cats sneak up on em.

Typical ESPN, I'm surprised they didn't put that under achieving, over rated school up I10 somewhere in the mix.

OU has no O-line or QB, and lost to every ranked team they played this year.....recipe for top 5. Not to mention the Big XII is way up next year, with every good squad returning their QB except OU and Nebraska

Early polls are meaningless...I'm with losgatosaz05! Lets just sneak up and let the world see what we have!
Dill...the Big 12 will be fun to watch in 07. FLA. should be tough again as well.

Yeah, I just don't get the interest in doing a poll when we are months away from even Spring Practice. I know ESPN wants to drum up readership, but there is no way this poll is going to look remotely like the one at the end of next season, so why even bother?

I think Arizona will be in the top 25 talk, though I don't think we will be in the top 25 before preseason. We have a chance to have the best D in the Pac-10 (USC of course will be up there). I think people will take notice of our defensive numbers and returning players, as well as the changes that were made to make over a stagnant offense. People will be reserved before the offense is seen in action but I believe we will be in the 26-30 top teams discussion.

only two pac10 teams in the top 20, hmm. barely 3 in the top 25

Wait till after Spring Ball
The QB question should be answered along with the installation of a spread offense. At that time we should evaluate as we may have a statute at QB who should sit out a year and lets see if Lyon can roll out and pass on the run.
The visit to Snow JC was no surprise and Az will need a roll out QB who can move his feet and throw deep. Az has speed on the outside, but needs a cannon of an arm on the rollout to hit the wideouts deep.

I do not think Tui is the answer and would rather have him sit for a year and get his brains unscrambled. His health is more important and one shot to the head could be all she wrote. I am serious as I have seen the devastation and the loss of balance that is hard to treat as their are only a few specialists in this field. The recovery road is long and frustrating. I think the new OC knows this and is searching for a "gunslinger'.

Early polls are meaningless...

More than that. . . Preseason polls are always completely biased, and destroy any sort of objective look for the rest of the season.

Throughout the year, voters will look at where a team was ranked "last week" and how they performed this week. Thus, giving an unearned advantage to teams who were ranked preseason. It makes no sense at all to me. . .
