each arizona player has like 2-3 sentences about them while each Tennessee player got at least a paragraph if not more about them... kinda weird.

That was the first thing I noticed. I opened the thread to complain about that, but you beat me to it.

Score:
Arizona players: 12 sentences
UT Vols players: 31 sentences

One would think that Tennessee is the #1 seed.

Tennessee kinda scares me but I know Arizona can pull it out... We came close the last time we played them our only problem is we kept leaving players on base. Bear Down Ladies!

Just thought this tidbit of respect from a Vol fan on their board for Taryne and the Cats might be appreciated.

As I have stated previously, Even before this day began, Arizona is the team I feared the most. They are well coached, confident, talented and loose. And there is apparently no such thing as a "tired Mowatt." How in the world could she have lost 8 games ( I think) during the
regular season?

The 2 BEST teams definitely will be playing for the championship, and I will have no problem crowning the eventual winner as the rightful champion, regardless of the fact we won the first meeting.

Well, to keep it in perspective, granted we are the #1 seed, but all season Tenn was #1, and also, Tenn beat us already, and also Tenn is undefeated where as we have one loss. Don't get me wrong... but they are playing better than us right now. I am confident though!

Tennessee was worthy of the #1 ranking all season because they had the fewest losses, but Arizona played a much tougher schedule than the Lady Vols. Tennessee faced improving competition in the SEC and played an easier schedule (a win is a win though). The Pac 10 and Big 12 are still tougher than any other conf.

I didn't say I agreed with it. I just wanted to point out that they have a good reason to get more attention, besides being west of the mississip.

Not to mention they have a much more interesting story, the team that has never won it, upsetting THE powerhouse defending national champs, on the shoulders of their Ace. Just saying. But I still think we can sweep!

I don't think they're playing better than us right now. They simply have the ace of all aces and they've ridden that horse all season long. And, correct me if I'm wrong, but the SEC isn't a power conference in softball is it? Not like the Pac Ten. I DO think this Tennessee team is quite a bit better than Texas was last year when they rode a similar horse all year. This Tennessee team, as the article points out, has more offense. And Abbott is every bit as good as Osterman. Is Abbot a senior?

We have had success against Abbott before (last season) and we actually gave that game away on Friday night after outplaying them all night. Just couldn't scratch out a run or two despite having bases loaded twice.

I need a geography lesson perhaps, but when did Tennessee move "west of the mississippi"?

Tennessee is east of the Mississippi.

I never noticed the length - I just read our stuff and posted the link. Oh, well. As I read today in the Daily Star, they seem to play their best with their backs up against the wall. I loved the focus and determination they showed yesterday.

I truly think we can win - not only did we push Abbott by loading the bases twice on Friday, but our bats are now alive after yesterday and we can ride that momentum tonight!

Great article on Mesa from that link as well

As Stacy said the bats came to life yesterday and we touched abbott for 6 hits on Friday. Everyone except a die hard Arizona fan has already crowned Tenn champion. That pisses me off Arizona is still the #1 seed, so go ahead and make the Cats underdogs. I think the Cats have something to say about that and may come up and bite Tenn in the butt. So don't go out and buy your Tenn T shirts yet.

Woops, I meant NOT being west of the Mississippi. Implying the East Coast Bias. Muh bad.

Actually, I don't think it helps in any way. Maybe they were trying to give out "free" scouting reports on the Vols? :wink2: :lol2:

I'm sure MC has all he needs, and we have all we need. My biggest hope, however, is that "we" play gritty, yet loose enough to continue riding this high over the past day and a half for the few days and remain injury/error free! If so, the rest should take care of itself.

At least the two best teams are playing in the NC game at this point. One riding high all around including the bats, the other riding a very good pitcher.

I wonder if Abbot has lost 2 of 3 in her life.

There's a first time for everything!
