Moving on from a tough one in "Sin City" The Cats now face the game they USED to struggle with. The Holiday break game. Will the kids be thinking of Santa, family, homemade cooking and play poorly and then have KO call a next day practice thus making all of them miss there flights home. I think not

No disrespect Wayne but I have to disagree with that last statement.
I see continued improvement both individually and as a team. Wise is improving right before our eyes. And Hill is playing great again and keeping us in this game.
It's our offense that is just not filled with confidence right now. but it will come.

Me for one, glad I called that one wrong. But has been said repeatedly, the biggest improvement is between the freshmen and sophomore year.

Hopefully Chase proves that right too, and avoids the sophomore jinx.

Exactly. This team buys into the team concept, no one auditioning for the league. And most of all, this team hates to lose.

last year i was shocked at how poor wise played. i knew he had to be better. he has improved for sure. should he be starting??

obviously, Chase has been hurting. maybe for awhile. we may be significantly better when he heals up.

We wore J-Mac down early and he became a non-factor in conference play. I really think that hurt us because he was the guy who filled up a lot of stat columns, and came up with big plays when we needed them.

I also think, as has been mentioned by others on the board lately, that the zone defenses we had to use were not at all effective once we got into conference play. Teams exploited that, and they also knew how to take Shakur out of the game. That left us with a bunch of one on one junk that didn't get it done.

Nobody in this thread was the poster I was thinking of. But I did make some summer time comments about Nic's defense during pickup games. He's making me look pretty foolish for those comments... :o

I'm a Wise guy! Anyone who has more wins than anyone else in Texas high school history deserves a year to get it right in elite D1 college ranks.
