New Head Coach

In all the talk about finding a new head coach, let's not forget about Jeff Scuran. He rebuilt Pima's football program in just one year. I realize that he does not have the national recruiting contacts that others would have (knowledgeable assistants could take care of that) but he knows football and his teams always play hard.

Scurran didn't exactly rebuild Pima football. He was the coach of the first ever team. He built Pima football. I played for him @ Sabino High School for a year before he left. I don't think he would be bad, certainly not any worse, but the university has pretty much said they'll never hire him, because of his ego. He does have one, but he was tolerable. I'd like to see him get a chance, but like I said last year, Urban Meyer was the way to go. He coached Bowling Green before he went to Utah last season. We need to get a small conference coach, who built a successful team, because most of them just want to get to major programs eventually anyway...hint hint: Northern Illinois

It always seemed to me like Scurran won in high school by out-cheating everyone else. I'm not sure that's the angle I would look for in finding a new head coach for Arizona. I'd rather get a guy who has never been used in the same sentence with "controversy."

Yes, Scurran was a huge cheater. I saw it all, and hiring him would be a bigger mistake than re-hiring Mackovic.

Scurran is a scum ball, plain and simple.

With that said, we still kicked all your guys asses every year. Now I know how Texas Basketball fans feel. (Here it comes!)

First Flowing Wells Varsity Football Team to beat Sabino had yours truly on it. Of course it would have been sweeter if Scurran was still there. Scurran was a real dick.
