AZ Softball gets another recruit

Melissa Bradford signed with the Cats. The Cats have 4 commitments~ Adrienne Acton, Callista Balko, Taryne Mowatt -n- now Melissa Bradford.

Taryne Mowatt is a pitcher/ 1st and 3rd baseman from Santiago HS in Corona, Calif. 3 time 1st team All League and all CIF and StudentSports All American. 2 time All State, League and CIF MVP/ Pitcher of the Year. Had 23 shutouts last year and led the Southern Section in K's with 384. Works with Jennie's dad Doug Finch. Recruited by UCLA, Texas, Oklahoma, Cal, Stanford and then chose Arizona. Santiago was not on the NFCA list and for that Taryne was not included as a All American on that but she is amazing. Also plays 1st base and 3rd. She had a 26-4 record last year with a 0.16 ERA. Plays ASA with O.C Batbusters and helped then win the championship.


Callista Balko is a catcher/shortstop All American from CDO here in Tucson, Ariz. 2 time All State and was one of Arizona's top 3 prospects. Chose Arizona over UCLA, Cal, OU and Stanford.

Adrienne Acton is a 2nd base/ss/of All American from Marana HS in Marana, Ariz. All American last year after hitting .712 as a junior. Recruited by UCLA and Cal among others before selecting Arizona.

The 3 posted above played on the High School All Star team together as well so they know each other.

Dont know alot about Melissa Bradford...She attends Katella HS I think, thats what someone posted on another site but I also heard she lived in Louisiana. One person said 'Great hitter with raw power' about her but we will have to wait and see!
