View Full Version : True Story about Farmer that was never supposed to be told...

but since he is off the team why not.
I have wanted Farmer off the team since I heard this and glad he is now.
Apparently Farmer went into the director of football relations office during the off-season and began ranting and raving about how he felt he deserved a nice car because he put butts in the seats and deserved more than he got. He felt he deserved a nice car so he yelled this for everyone to hear. This is why Mack and him got in the argument that everyone was talking about. Because Farmer wanted to know why he did not have a nice car. I kid you not, this is true.
Also Brad Arnett called the Police on farmer during workouts once for not leaving the new facilities when asked too. Brad has wanted to kill farmer since forever and finally had enough of his crap. But farmer would not leave so brad called the cops to remove him.
Farmer also refused to see the trainers to help him with his knee and never really followed orders. I guess this is just clarence being clarence. As my dad would say, "Grade A Bum"
These stories are true and RCF has heard them as well. I never told them before because it would be wrong, but now that farmer is off the team I think everyone should know what type of person he was.

I was debating posting the issues involved Johnny O, but I am glad you did it and not me. They are unfortunately true and Clarence will be extremely lucky to get any shot. Even if he gets invited to some camp on a free agent basis, the kid needs to do an absolute 180 degree turn in attitude because the guy is a flat out headcase.

For some reason I am not surprised at this... Not really a "I told ya so" attidtude, but I had my reservations about this person ever since I saw him IRL at training camp. His body language, and just simply what he did and did not do, caught my eye as odd.
Glad he is gone.
1. Because of what you just stated
2. No more dancing in the backfield while precious holes fill up
3. Less split time in the RB ranks
4. I dont like him now (hahaha should be most important reason I guess, but with talent, its not)

Well then... it's hard to wish a guy like that well. It sickens me that he was in our program, in fact.
Man oh man, let's just forget about the last 3 years of football and start over already.
It never happened. It never happened. It nev...

I'm willing to chip in a couple hundred bucks to buy him a late model Yugo. I figure $200 will buy the car outright. Johnny O, RCF, are you guys up for springing for the personalized license plate? I'm thinking "GO'N 2 D SHO" might be good. Or should it be something more simple like "ME"...

This does, however, beg the question: why didn't Farmer already have the nice car? I would be interested in the results of a survey of the cars driven by 1000 yard running backs of BCS conference schools...

If DeShaun got an SUV, Clarence deserved a Camry.

sounds a little rediculous to me....if true then yeah, guy is a nut and has some real problems....but, if this were true why would we not have know about this.?..why wouldn't he have been kicked off team earlier?....the way you guys tell it (and i have no reason to doubt you) it seems like you all heard it from other sources, thereofre, no one seems to know this for sure. wouldn't the school be hesitant to kick off someone who can get them in trouble by talking about gifts and stuff?...you said he said he "deserved more then he got" does that mean he already was given stuff? would he have any reason in the world not to bust the UA now if that was true?

Well, why did Hankwitz suspend Farmer this time? For the stuff that happened above? If Hankwitz suspended Farmer for the reasons listed above, then Hankwitz is a liar when he said Clarence had a "clean slate."

I think Farmer was continually late for practice and did not take the "one more time and you are out" threat seriously.
But at least now he can play baseball for the Dodgers.

had really big, bouncy t*ts, I wouldn't need a girlfriend. Hey maybe they do have 'em--I haven't really looked at a chicken in a while. I wonder what kind of chicken I would choose . . . a typical run-of-the mill broiler chicken (low maintenance) or one of those fancy ones with the long, pretty feathers (nah, probably high maintenance). I wonder if my parents would approve. Maybe we would have to elope . . . Can anyone except a farmer really prove that chickens aren't the second coming of Dolly Parton? Would the FDA bust me if I kept a chicken for recreational purposes only?

Not really fair to call the coach a liar!! They HAVE to "spin" stuff for various reasons.....
There really is no doubt that Clarence never had a clean slate...

A Clean Slate does not mean that he had the opportunity to piss off everyone again. It just measn that they would not hold any past indiscretions against him, and they didn't. He should have been kicked off the team last week but was instead suspended for the first quarter. He did not improve after Mackovic got fired, he actually got worse and got a bigger head, and most of it was thanks to the "Clean Slate" that was given him by Hankwitz.
Good Riddance Clarence, have fun on the scout team of an NFL team, or in the CFL or World League buddy, you pissed your life away, I hope it was worth it.

... there is more to it as well. He wanted the dept to pay off parking tickets for him (several hundred $$ worth). Can you spell CANCER? He was in the biggest way. What a waste.

Anyone know the reason Farmer was suspended/booted?
NewportCat gave us some good examples of bad behavior. Is there anything else I am missing? Didn't RCF say he knew what was up or is it still a secret?
I guess we obviously don't care about winning if we just threw our best player off the team for simply being a punk. Someone please tell me I am missing something here.

PARKING tickets? Good God. University workers dropped a branch through my trunk window once, caving in the frame, in a UNIVERSITY parking lot. But I have to pay for all the repairs myself.
Yet Clarence feels like the university should foot the bill because he doesn't know how to park? Wow. This is going to be just the first of MANY reality checks for Clarence Farmer.

I guess I have to be the first to say this, maybe Mack new a little bit more about this football team then we give him credit for. Never got along with Farmer, turns out Farmer was just as big a loser as Mack wanted us to think. What about Justin (thats not my stuff) Lavasser, total disgrace to his family. Yeah he was! Who else did Mack have a problem with??? Keep an eye on them. Might be seeing something soon.
As for the end of the Tomey era. No chance. U of A will have to win Nat'l Champ to get rid of the Tomey era. All you have to do is read bandwagon Hanson in the dailey star!!! If the next coach we bring in doesn't win right away dill weed Hanson will write about how Tomey should have never been canned.

I think we do care about winning. But a punk who is a Senior and supposed to be a role model for the younger players cannot be allowed carte blanche to act and do whatever he pleases. Winning involves mental and physical discipline as well as a positive attitude. Farmer has proven multiple times that he sorely lacks all these attributes. While not the only thing, I believe these ideals translate to the quality of performance on the field.
I wish Clarence good luck in the future, but am glad that Hanky saw fit to relieve the team of another cancer.
Perhaps now that Clarence is FREE, we can give him a shirt with his new motto: "Want fries with that?"

You're not serious right? I'll list:
He wanted the U to buy him a car. (against NCAA rules)
He wanted the U to pay his parking tickets. (against NCAA rules)
He didn't get along with Dick Tomey. (butthole)
He didn't get along with Mackovic. (maybe butthole)
He didn't get along with Hankowitz (now we know he's a butthole)
He got into a fist fight with a coach. (major butthole)
He didn't abide by team rules, didn't go to practices on time, didn't go to meetings on time, thought it was his world and everyone else was just a squirrel trying to get a nut. (kicked off, and about damn time, still a butthole)
Anything else you'd like the guy to do before he gets thrown off the team? He wasn't just a punk. And even if he was, yes, it's perfectly ok to throw ANYONE off the team for "simply being a punk". Punks are usually team cancers... and Clarence was obviously a very malignant cancer. Good riddance.

just completely forgot about it. Wilmas, Trust me when I say there were way too many reasons why he was kicked off the team. Many felt he should have been kicked off long before. This while it might not seem, is good for the program and sends a message that needed to be sent long ago.
The parking ticket story and the car story are both 100% true and ask anyone in the athletic department or on the football team if you do not believe them

it was a little late for farmer to help us win...so i don't think that his being booted is a sign of anything like what wp said.
is it possible that hanky was feeling a little guilty for ending up in mac's spot and thought he would try to do his old buddy a favor by coming down extra hard on farmer and in some strange way validating mac and helping to restore his image? just a thought.
at this point in the year with farmer being a senior who cares what happens to him. i love the guy and he was our best player but i am sure the detroit tigers had a best player this year and look what that got them.
and....i don't really buy into any of these stories/rumors about farmer...are you serious? does anyone really believe this garbage? wouldn't he have been gone long long ago?!

Well if he really got into a fist fight with a coach that is certainly a reasonable explanation for him to be kicked off the team.
All that other stuff happens at every other school. If we were in contention for the Pac-10 title I bet C-Farm is still on the team.

I have never seen so much invective heaped on one player.
Maybe it's just another sign of how negative the FB season has been. If U of A wins again this year it will be counted as an unbelievable miracle.
As for the stories, despite the affirmations, I find them very hard to believe. Parking tickets I can believe, because I know kids can be lackadasical. That doesn't make them felons though. Irresponsible, perhaps.
Fist fights with a coach? Again, hard to believe.
There are always 2 sides to every story. It's not that I'm disagreeing with the Hankster, it's just that in this situation the coaches have all the power in doing what they do. Maybe it was the right decision, but the reality may be somewhere between what we read in the papers, what is posted here, and what we haven't heard from the other party.
I think the whole scenario is awful and I'm not going to be happy about this dismissal or call him a cancer to the team.
I'm not in the athletic dept. and I don't think I could (or anyone else for that matter) simply call them up and ask for verification of the above.

Is what I have seen from games or heard from quotes. From that I gather that Farmer was definitly not a cancer to the team. He bled red and blue. He stuck with the cats through Mackovic when he could have easily walked away. He was the most energetic player on the team (besides Hardt) and was always trying to pump the fans up (AND THE FANS ACTUALLY RESPONDED). He tried to get the team to bond. The players respected him. Heavner said Farmer helped him out and Fraser said he is a great guy. He has also activly helped recruiting.
So basically, he recruited, he had the team's respect, he produced on the field, and he helped build team unity. Hmm... that's more than i can say about the last head coach. If only we had more cancers like Clarence Farmer...

It's safe to say that when you look up the word "interim coach" in the dictionary, you won't see a picture of Mike Hankwitz.
Jim Livengood probably hoped Hankwitz would keep things low-key, maybe win a game or two, and steer the ship back to port as quietly as possible while waiting for the new captain.
Instead he tries to lobby for himself as new head coach, outright blows two games, tries to make his players the scapegoats by suspending them, gets blown out yet again, then starts kicking players off the team.
Nice job Hankwitz, maybe win a game next time before you start deciding who is good enough to play at the UofA and who isn't.

Is there any surprise why Hankwitz and Mackovic are good friends? Suspending anyone who they take issue with...

about some of the things Hankwitz has done and how they actually help Mackovic's image. Maybe he wants people to be aware of some of the things Mack was dealing with.
The flip side is that, if even half of these things really happened, why didn't Mackovic have the guts to get rid of Farmer? What was he afraid of? Had he lost that much control of what was happening?
Maybe Hankwitz realizes that he has no shot at getting this job based on wins, but based on him kicking a$$ and cleaning up the mess that was left behind.
He seems to have a good number of players behind him (except Farmer) with more coming on board every day.
WildcatPaulG
10-30-2003, 12:27 PM
...and with him getting players behind him is even more reason for the new coach to come in and hire their own staff and not keep Hankwitz on as DC. Face it, if Hankwitz stays when the new coach comes in, some players might harbor ill will towards the new coach because Hankwitz didn't get the job.
