Stewart Mandel has a new weekly column on si.com following in the footsteps of Peter King's MMQB column. It is a pretty good read wrapping up the weekend of college football. The Cats even got a good mention in it (but for some reason will not paste into this post). Also, now that is a video board that Tennessee has.

Nice mention. Truly amazing what Stoops has done considering where we were.

Arizona coach Mike Stoops has spent six years trying to mold the Wildcats' defense into the type of fast, aggressive outfit he engineered at Oklahoma. How's this for a statement: The Wildcats held prolific Central Michigan QB Dan LeFevour -- he of 9,214 passing yards and 2,235 rushing yards over three seasons -- to just 182 total yards in a 19-6 win. "We're trying to be a greedy defense and bring back the old days," said safety Cam Nelson, presumably referring to Arizona's "Desert Swarm" D from the '90s. Continued efforts like that will take a lot of pressure off sophomore QB and first-time starter Matt Scott.
Always nice to get some national press on a weekend we might have been entirely forgotten.

Foles gets a mention:
Arizona quarterback Nick Foles (40-of-51, 415 yards, three TDs) outlasted Stanford freshman Andrew Luck (21-of-35, 435 yards, three TDs, one pick) in a 43-38 shootout Saturday night. Luck's stardom has been predicted for some time, but Foles has been a revelation for the 'Cats, which, if not for Washington's "immaculate interception" last week, would be undefeated in the Pac-10.

If only Stoops could get some real DL's to come here we would be pretty damn good.
