Site Organization

I'm sure this will be deleted in short order.

The organization of threads on this site is lacking. Having one thread on Josiah Turner that started months ago does not provide the consumer with any logical and easy way to view pertinent and currrent information. Sure I can go to the last page, but that does not give updated statuses, just random comments.

It is not practical to read through 100 pages of material to find the gem.

This is just an example of nearly every thread on the site.

Not griping, just hoping for improvement, as this site has quickly found its way to the bottom of my favorites. I check in now and then hoping to find a quick update on a recruit or player, only to find the recruits name with 100+ pages of info to read through. Not helpful.

Okay moderator, move or pull this post as I am sure it is not in the right place or on the right thread.

Also true. Zonacat14's problem (again, I sympathize) is that so many of these long threads degenerate into irrelevant (and often fun) "discussions" that occasionally get peppered with relevent info on the thread's subject. Esp during the off season.

Except...when the earlier info is very dated. The old thread just disappears into forgottenness. If a thread has been dead for 3 years, in most cases it should remain dead.

"Let's see, this thread must have new info. I didn't read the last few pages last time around because it was just a pissing match between 'fan X, and UCLA fan Y'. So, where should I make my guess to find the new posts? Page 63? Page 72?"

I grew up there and like to keep abreast of all the rumors and misinformation akin to this site but even with moderators it's like trying to find an empty hay bale to screw your cousin behind. (It is Nebraska-- it's hard)

So, be thankful that there's not a long list of thread topics about UA sports in general dotted with a thread about how Obama hates the NRA and That one kid from Iowa with one leg who's on a baseball schollie.

It's pretty good here.

Just because some think things CAN be improved doesn't mean they think it's bad. Attractive cousins are the reason Shelbyville was founded.

There has to be a middle ground between spewing out mindless threads and keeping everything confined to a single thread regardless of relevancy or the utter unreadability of the thread. Like how you don't want to hold in farts until you explode, but recognize that you can't roll around cutting the cheese constantly.

Could not disagree with this comment more. For example, I may have to go to page 57 to find the last piece of pertinent info. How would I find page 57? Just have a new thread with the "latest", then have people comment. If something changes, then open a new thread again.

Look at the Josiah and Kyle threads. Ridiculous.

From a consumer standpoint, not good at all.

You missed his point. He's saying there's different aspects to every story and they are all combined in one huge thread which makes it hard to read. Not 10 threads each with the SAME subject.

I believe it was the vile JessieWildcat that prompted the combining of the threads in the first place wasn't it?

Before anyone had the nads to ban him/her, or rather to at least keep up with all his screen names he was clogging up the whole site with 5, 6, 7 new threads at a time all about the same jibberish.

Well actually, he's just voicing his opinion like you are. It wasn't "wrong" to prefer that different aspects of the same story/topic stay in the same general thread, just like it's not "wrong" to want a new fresh thread every time there's a development in that topic. You may disagree with him just like I disagree with you. I just know what the board in general has preferred over time due to its general practices, and it's not a new thread every time Shabazz sneezes.
