That said, I posted this before (and it surely won't go over any better today than it did then), IMO it's really hard to put yourself into a situation where you get shot. It might be much easier where Parrom grew up. I get that. But the even among the people from his own neighborhood - the % who didn't get shot has to be around 99%. It's exceedingly hard to be shot by someone in life.

The odds go up dramatically if you put yourself into a bad situation.

I concede I don't know the facts of what happened that night. And it's not fair to make definitive judgements about anyone but the shooter. And in complete isolation, Parrom's situation wouldn't be given much of a 2nd thought at this point. But the issue isn't Parrom in isolation. The question is whether Miller has a recruiting philosophy that puts kids with "issues" on the team.

This season has made that a legit question. Parrom might have done absolutely nothing wrong at all. Or he might have been running with a girl who was running with some bad dudes... and thus he put himself in a situation. But either way, his incident is part of the story of this year's team. And win or lose on the court, the stories off the court have been an embarrassment to this team.

And as an alum, you're an embarrassment to our university.

Next time someone says that perhaps Parrom's off the court behavior might have been something short of angelic, maybe you and everyone else can just accept it as a possibility instead of acting like his a saint beyond question. That just might preempt the next part of the discussion next time. Deal?

Do you understand the difference between accepting something, and calling attention to it?

I would have thought that the reaction from everyone else on the board the last time you wouldn't drop it would have shut you up about the issue forever.

The victim should have easily blocked Perry's punch. He probably bounced the ball once in the paint once before swinging.

alternate: The victim clearly wasn't a Pac-12 post player, as Perry's shot would have been blocked.

The attorney for former Arizona Wildcat basketball player Jesse Perry said today his client is looking forward to clearing his name after being charged with felony domestic violence.
Perry, 22, was released from Pima County Jail on Saturday morning after making an initial appearance via video conference in Pima County Justice Court. He was charged after police said a hospital notified them after an adult female suffered injuries as the result of an assault early Thursday morning.
Attorney Michael Harwin declined to comment in detail, other than to say the victim was not the mother of Perry’s child nor a UA student, and issued a statement to the Star.
“We should all remember that Jesse Perry is presumed innocent of this charge,” Harwin said. “To do otherwise would be to deny Jesse the fundamental presumption of innocence guaranteed to Jesse and all of us.
“A lot of you know Jesse as I do -- as an extraordinarily hard working, diligent young man who has never been in trouble in his life. Jesse Perry is not only an honored athlete but a fulltime student at the University of Arizona, a senior with a spotless record who is on track to graduate.
“Jesse has a deep commitment to the Tucson community and a deep sense of honor. Jesse immediately went to the police station when this happened. Jesse trusts that he will be treated fairly by the prosecuting office, the judicial system, and the university. Jesse Perry is presumed to be innocent and is looking forward to his day in the court so he can defend his good name.”
Perry is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Pima County Justice Court on May 11.
