The Eagles have done well recently developing QBs. I imagine that Foles will take a route similar to Kevin Kolb: sit behind the starter, learn, fill in and perform well, accumulate trade value, then end up elsewhere.

The Osweiler pick by Denver puzzled me. I didn't see it coming. At all. As this draft has progressed, I thought the Broncs were teed up to groom Nick behind Manning. Elway's visit to Tucson, etc. F 'em. No longer interested.

I think Nick probably has a good chance to play sooner rather than later in Philly. And I'm fine with Vick's act, but he's not the mentor or skill set that I'd think you'd want to groom Foles behind. So what's the plan? The Eagles have a new plan for the future?

But, something happened with Foles and Elway about a month ago. I posted to that effect here somewhere. I will likely get some time with Elway in mid-late June and I will definitely ask him what happened, and how he intends to correct Osweilers throwing motion (Tebow reminiscent btw). If he'll tell me I will come back and post it.

Agree with you on the Eagles. Has a good chance imo to be the #2 guy and when you're the #2 guy behind Vick you're going to play. Kinda wish he was going to a warmer weather team or a dome team however. He seems pumped, course what else is he going to say. Reid has some nice comments and the staff apparently really likes him.

I remain shocked that Oz and Wilson were taken before him and don't even get me started on Tannehill. Weeden I can handle. Beginning to think there's a specific route in the tree that he just can't throw ...

With Foles you know what your getting. A solid but not spectacular college QB for three full years.

With BO you only have a year and a half of the same thing - so I guess Elway sees more potential there?

Time for Nick to develope a little chip on his shoulder IMO.

I think you're (NFL teams) just hoping for Tannehill, Oz to do something they have never done before. Which is perform well.

I will laugh at Miami when they are drafting another QB in the first round in 2-3 years. Denver will ship OZ off after they realize he throws like Tebow, doesn't have the wheels, toughness or leadership like him. I thought these were huge mistakes they made.

Keep me posted on what you hear, because I was thinking Broncos was using Osweiler as a smoke screen. Nick had the est fit in Denver, but Im sure he will adapt in Philly. Bear Down!!!

Don't understand Oz and Russell Wilson before Nick. I was really surprised by both picks. Tannehill I get with the Mike Sherman connection I guess. Weeden I don't have a problem with.

I'll probably end up being wrong but Weeden is going to stink badly. He's got all the same issues Quarterbaks 3-12 have, is old enough to be their dads, and has to start right away considering where he was drafted. There is a reason the Cleveland Browns suck.

Alfred Jenkins got drafted, albeit as a TE.

Even sadder: The last UA quarterback to take a snap in the NFL was Bill Demory, an undrafted free agent who started three games for the New York Jets in 1973.
