Apparently the Yankees have been making a bid to add Yu Darvish as soon as 09. His team in Japan has control over him for awhile and he has said he has no interest, but the posting fee could make them change their mind. Mets, Dodgers and Cubs are rumored to have made calls too. 21 years year old and the movement in the 2nd video is very impressive. Could be a situation to watch.

I thought they cant leave until they have 8 yrs?

I won't claim to know the rules, but I think a team can post a player at any time. Players just can't leave for free.

I imagine that when they sell, they agree to terminate his contract. If he doesn't want to go I would imagine the japanese team is still ont he hook for his contract
