Things haven't started off too well against Oregon St

Down 3-0 in the 2nd.

If they lose this series I wonder if they even make the postseason. This is a good but young offensive team but the pitching has been below average.

Run ruled the Beavs 12-4. Babcock went all the way and only walked two.

Every team in the Pac 12 will make the post season except for Utah.

This from today's AZ Daily Star:

Longtime assistant Larry Ray was not at Hillenbrand Stadium and won't be at least "through the weekend," UA deputy athletic director Kathleen "Rocky" LaRose said.

Ray has coached under Candrea for 21 years, with a head coaching stint at Florida in the middle.

"The only thing I can say is he's dealing with some personal issues," said Candrea, declining to elaborate.

Ray did not immediately respond to a voice mail message left on his cellphone.

Earlier Thursday, the Wildcats had operations director and former UA pitcher Alicia Hollowell approved by the NCAA for on-field coaching.

She visited the pitcher's circle Thursday and has "moved in as a coach at this point," Candrea said.

Also, Candrea said junior Baillie Kirker, a backup first baseman, was "suspended for breaking a team rule."

He would not say if she was eligible to return.

When Alicia was hired I wondered if she wasn't going to be groomed for one of the top slots in the corporation. I think she's a great choice one of my fav Cats. I remember leaving a game and she was still on the field and I yelled at her "great game" or something to that affect. She turned, smiled, waved and said thanks. Not much to anyone else but I thought it was cool.

Thats an interesting comment "He’s been a loyal and excellent coach for 22 years, and was there to help out the university in their time of need,"
I wonder where this goes with GB? It opens the door for Alicia no doubt.

Once again the team is playing inconsistent. They score 12 runs yesterday and have only one hit tonight after five innings. Also, the defense makes a huge error and all three runs are unearned. Cats down 3-0 in the top of the 6th, maybe the offense can get it going.
