They only carried a hand full of UA football games anyhow. But throw in basketball, soccer and volleyball, yeah, it is like half their live sports content. I guess it is just D-Backs games now. Do they even get to air the Coyotes anymore, or is that all on NBC's premium station?

Maybe we'll get more club hockey and rugby from them!

They preferred showing HS sports over the PAC 12 anyways. They got the NBA and MLB to keep them afloat. I know they intend to flip FuelTV and make it a Fox Sports channel like CBS's and NBC's.

I was reading a thread on another board about the Pac-12 Network. I was not encouraged by what I read from a presumably knowledgeable poster who seemed to understand the dynamics of the negotiations between the Pac-12 and the various providers.

It prompted me to log on to my Directv account and lodge my concerns. I simply sent a customer service email via the "Contact Us" tab as follows:

I've been a loyal customer for almost 7 years and have generally enjoyed my Directv service.

Please know that I will not hesitate to cancel my service and switch to another provider if Directv is unable to provide me with the entirety of Pac-12 network programming including ALL regional channels, and especially Arizona Wildcat football.

I will gladly pay for Pac-12 Network programming as part of a sports package or special subscription. If it's necessary to cancel Directv and switch to another provider that carries the Pac-12 Network, then I will.

I hope that Directv is able to provide Pac-12 Network programming. Thank you for your attention.

Directv's prompt boilerplate response an hour later:

Thank you for writing to let us know that getting the PAC 12 Network is important to you. I understand you would like to know its availability on DIRECTV.

At this time, we do not have an update yet if we are going to carry the PAC 12 Network. Our goal is to provide a wide variety of programming, so I forwarded your request to our management for review. Rest assured your voice is being heard and many of the changes we make are a direct result of the comments, and suggestions we receive from our customers.

Directv.com is the best place to find the latest news and information about our service. You can also sign up for our newsletter if you do not receive it already. Just sign in at directv.com/mydirectv and click on the “Update Profile” link and select the option to receive the DIRECTV monthly newsletter.

Again, thank you for writing Mr. ____. We look forward to continuously providing you with the very best in digital home entertainment for many years to come.

Sincerely,

P. S. Football season is coming soon! Catch up to 14 games every week this fall with NFL SUNDAY TICKET, now available at www.directv.com/nfl.

Not much to go on there, but I appreciate the marketing P.S. reminding me that "Football season is coming soon!" Uh, yeah. No sh!t. That's why I emailed you.

I called a center yesterday morning and spoke with a representative out of their office in Aurora, after the convo I said I hope your co-workers, family and friends are safe and he had no clue what I was talking about.

Deep down I secretly wish DirecTV doesn't pick up the P12 Network so it gives me a reason to leave them. I get tired of having to call every 6 months and threaten to leave for them to lower my bill, I don't even have a premium package. Even though I don't watch the big Viacom channels like Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, VH1, etc. it makes me upset that DirecTV will easily drop 26 channels from subscribers yet not offer a change in bill.

You pay $X for 300 channels, they drop 26 of them, I expect a price drop. Even if it's only $5.

Unless you are a Sunday TIcket subscriber, you should never feel you have to stay with DirecTV or any content provider. They have me by the short and curlies because I subscribe to Ticket and I am under contract with them. It wont stop me from calling up this week and asking for my annual discount.

Nor should it stop you from dropping them for Cox. This is a business, all they see you as is $$. You should treat them the same way. Hell if I could I would alternate between Dish, DirecTV and Cox every 2 years and get the amazing new customer deals. Sadly until I see Sunday Ticket elsewhere, my options will be limited.

Just an FYI for the guys with Directv. On advice from a friend I called to complain about the Viacom thing. I was given $10 off my bill for 6 months, free Stars for 6 months, free HBO and Cinemax for 3 months, and the NFL ticket for $99. Doesn't hurt to ask if you haven't.

I did the same thing, except I got 25 off my bill for 12 months, $5 off HBO for 6 months, and free sunday ticket. I was on the phone with the guy for like 45 minutes and at first it was $5 off then 10$ then $25, he offered sunday ticket for $99 i said throw it in for free and we are good and he did. I would've paid the $99 too. So like he says it definitely doesn't hurt to ask.

While we were on the phone I asked about the PAC-12 network and he had no clue what I was talking about. So that wasn't very encouraging.
