Mike McCarthy

It appears that the Packers have offered McCarthy their head coaching job. My question is why does this guy get a chance to be an NFL head coach?

I don't see what McCarthy has done that deserves him being offered any head coaching job in the NFL. On ESPN they said he was the QB coach of the Chiefs and Offensive Coordinator for the Saints and Niners(only last season). I don't know what he did that was so special as a QB coach(except that he was supposedly the QB coach when Joe Montana was way on the down side of his career). And I know the Saints and 49ers weren't very good offensively while he was the O-cordinator.

So again why does this guy deserve to be a NFL head coach?

The Saints were among the league leaders in offense when he was there...but he still doesn't deserve to be the Packers' coach.

I just know in the 2003/2004 and 2004/2005 seasons that the Saints were a middle of the pack offensive team. To me that isn't worthy of any consideration for a head coaching job. Maybe he was better when he was there the other 3 years as offensive coordinator but I doubt it.

Of course its not like McCarthy is the first unqualified guy to be a head coach in the NFL.

I don't know what the heck this guy is doing getting the job but Sherman was a moron..made some terrible choices. However with Favre sucking, Walker and Green going down, losing main offensive lineman-this simply was not his fault
