(3) What does Kyle legitimately think of Stoops as a head coach (as a recrutier, as a movitivator, as a game planners, as an in game coach).

(4) How much effort has Stoops personally put into recruiting the last 4 seasons directly compared to other Pac 10 coaches

(5) Am I am bad fan or a good fan because I have (a) consistently pointed out the same flaws in Stoops as a coach for the last 3 seasons or so (aka: the point I realized he was not ever going to be a great head coach)... while (b) cheering and watching EVERY game during this period

Why should I even answer when all I will get back is smartass, childish, misinformed responses reguardless of what the answer even is? Even if I say he is the worst coach in the country it will just be more BS from you guys. And god forbid I actually take a realistic approach becuase the only reality is that Stoops is the worst coach ever, and if I say anything remotely positive then I might as well say, "he is the greratest coach to ever step on a field' becuase thats all you people will hear.

3) I have no idea, but likely the same as me.
4) Probably not enough but he seems to have hugely corrected that this year, even if it might be a little too late.

Of course he would. Up until game 9 of last season Arizona looked like it might be arriving.

You don't can a coach at a place like Arizona 7-8 games later, 3 games into the next season.

Probably, there were a lot of fans, me included, that really thought the mixture of his name, the potential at Arizona, and his personality/leadership would get it done here (talking like 9-ish win seasons on average, not MNC's).

But again, the answer to #1 plays into this big time.

Average to slightly below average over all, but he witholds the privilege to judge in finality until he sees more of this season.

There's no such thing as a bad fan or a good fan, a fan is a fan is a fan. By definition, a bit nuts and irrational and prone to mistaken and hasty conclusions.

Fans are prone to point out flaws in their head coaches (and QBs), to a similar negative extreme as they argue their awesomeness when things are going swimmingly. You don't have to watch every minute to be a fan, forget cheering all the time.

But there is such a thing as a bad and good players, and bad and good coaches, and if you want to win a bunch of games you definitely need a bunch of good players.

And some good coaching can go a long ways too.

Then you start winning and folks stop talking about good and bad fans ...

In regards to your first couple questions, I get where you're going, and understand why most posters' have responded the way they have, including Winger. However, at this point, I think the name "Stoops" at least in regards to Mike, has the exact opposite effect, of the one you're implying. Because so many people don't like his animated sideline antics, and him being stubborn in regards to things that need to be changed or adjusted - we seem to have built Stoops into this caricature/character.. To the point where that last name is such a dividing thing now, that I actually believe if he was the same guy with a different last name, yes he would still have the job. AND, he'd have the job for as long as Mike ends up having it here at Arizona.

Curious to your answer on this Winger. Why doesn't it matter if Stoops personally worked hard recruiting.

The results of the past few recruiting classes (ie: no depth, lack of players at key positions) are showing themselves right now. So many posters love saying "you can't judge a recruiting class" until 2-3 years later. Now it is 2-3 years later... I am judging his classes and if there was a lack of personal effort in those efforts... he should be held accountable.

If he was a lazy recruiter, this is far more critical to his job performance than analyzing individual play calls and such.

BTW... I asked a serious question to give you the opportunity to express your opinion of Stoops.

Would LOVE to hear it... without f-bombs mixed in. Concise analysis and opinion would be wonderful and maybe allow people to get your points. But name calling does nothing except make me pray that you don't actually have an Arizona degree.
