Site Organization

I'm sure this will be deleted in short order.

The organization of threads on this site is lacking. Having one thread on Josiah Turner that started months ago does not provide the consumer with any logical and easy way to view pertinent and currrent information. Sure I can go to the last page, but that does not give updated statuses, just random comments.

It is not practical to read through 100 pages of material to find the gem.

This is just an example of nearly every thread on the site.

Not griping, just hoping for improvement, as this site has quickly found its way to the bottom of my favorites. I check in now and then hoping to find a quick update on a recruit or player, only to find the recruits name with 100+ pages of info to read through. Not helpful.

Okay moderator, move or pull this post as I am sure it is not in the right place or on the right thread.

It's more helpful to have everything in one big thread rather than having 10 on each subject

While I sympathize (and concur on the time wasted trying to find info), what you are asking for would be a relatively labor-intensive project for the volunteer mods to police (already done to some degree to deal with rowdiness), clean up and reorganize everly thread on a continuous basis.


However, one improvement that is less-labor intensive could be done-move the numerous "out of place" threads such as those discussing Gronk and Bruschi out of the "Arizona Football: A New Era" forum into the "Any Given Sunday (NFL) Board"

Also true. Zonacat14's problem (again, I sympathize) is that so many of these long threads degenerate into irrelevant (and often fun) "discussions" that occasionally get peppered with relevent info on the thread's subject. Esp during the off season.

Except...when the earlier info is very dated. The old thread just disappears into forgottenness. If a thread has been dead for 3 years, in most cases it should remain dead.

"Let's see, this thread must have new info. I didn't read the last few pages last time around because it was just a pissing match between 'fan X, and UCLA fan Y'. So, where should I make my guess to find the new posts? Page 63? Page 72?"

I encourage anyone who is frustrated with the lack of clarity and ease of board navigation to visit the free boards of the Nebraska Rivals site.

I know, I know why would you?

I grew up there and like to keep abreast of all the rumors and misinformation akin to this site but even with moderators it's like trying to find an empty hay bale to screw your cousin behind. (It is Nebraska-- it's hard)

So, be thankful that there's not a long list of thread topics about UA sports in general dotted with a thread about how Obama hates the NRA and That one kid from Iowa with one leg who's on a baseball schollie.

It's pretty good here.

One thread. Call it Updates. Want to discuss those updates? Start a thread. Anything that isn't news in the Updates thread gets killed.

Using this example of Josiah, i don't see any need to keep all Josiah related discussion in a single thread. There are different aspects of any situation, and it is a heck of a lot easier to address them in different threads.

Have other Josiah related threads been killed? If not, people still have to start em. If yes, it's silly. Let's get a "Josiah's nose ring and tats" thread so that people who want to discuss his play on the court don't have to bother.

Disclaimer: Josiah is just an example. I never cared about the nose ring/tats, and don't care much about his performance on the court (assuming he finds a court to play on) any more.

Just because some think things CAN be improved doesn't mean they think it's bad.
