I think that answers the questions of if we'll ever get a practice facility. Just practice year round at AZ stadium from now on.

I understand it.
I don't like it. To me, this has nothing to do with a "commitment to football" as discussed in other threads. I think RR wants a surface that maximizes speed, and nothing else. I'm not buying the economic benefit to lower maintenance, the savings don't make enough of a difference IMO. I'm not buying the versatility either. If UA mows down Sancet, put in a Field Turf indoor facility there and keep the Jimenez outdoor grass field, that addresses the "versatility" argument. Silly to have an artificial surface when UA used to have one of the best natural surfaces in all of college sports. The turf used to come from the Tucson Country Club.

The smell of green grass is a big part of the sensory experience at a UA football game for me. Very disappointing.

My high school played on artificial turf... F*cking HATE it. In 80 degree weather the turf was about 105, and god forbid you scrape your arm or your knee on it... ouch!

Fake grass - its not artifical turf. It's Rx turf that will require lower maintenance and it will function as close to natural grass / turf as possible. Yes it will be a faster track than a natural field.
