Probably not in the plans, but this is something that's most likely a case of "when," not "if." I think the trickiest part of building one would be dealing with the neighborhood. You need a fairly high roof on a practice facility, and the surrounding neighborhoods will fight something like that tooth and nail. Recessing it into the ground can be an option but it likely would massively increase the cost.

Football's a game where you're supposed to be dirty after you've played it for an hour. You don't get dirty playing on turf. This is a bad idea.

I think we'll get an indoor facility within the next five years. It's not like they are outrageously expensive. Would be cheaper than the new scoreboard and we could actually use it more than 7 times a year.

Jimenez should be a parking garage.

Sancet should be retail.

They should take out the street North of Bear Down field and make more room for the practice field next to NEZ project.

Yes I do know that athletics does not control BDF.

I know the "Bear Down Field" discussion is almost a mote point because it isn't under the control of the Athletic Department, but it should be.

BDF is a prime example as to the road blocks and self-inflicted wound's that have haunted the UofA's ability for decades to get any movement or traction for the football program.

There is not a better "ready made" location, appropriate in size, more realistic piece of dirt on campus with which to house and build a potential future domed practice field than BDF.

The fact that we are unable to have administrators understand the significance of BDF to the football program and make changes to help move forward on something so sensible and obvious as to transfer use to the FB program tells you that the UofA for all of it's bravado of "we want to be big-time” is just more of the same hot air of BS.

Greg Byrne has been moving in the right direction but cracking and overcoming decades of lack of vision seems almost impossible at times.

Thats why I think Jimenez should be parking. Trade Jimenez for BDF. Administration would make a mint on the parking even after paying for the debt service on the bonds to finance it.

bear down field is already being made into a turf practice field for the expansion. it was announced with the plans like 2 years ago.
