Bob Huggins Arrested for DUI

CINCINNATI - Cincinnati basketball coach Bob Huggins was arrested on charges he was driving drunk after visiting with a recruit.

Huggins, 50, had trouble staying in his lane, had slurred speech and smelled of alcohol when he was pulled over Tuesday in the village of Fairfax, according to a police report.

Neither Huggins nor the university had immediate comment. He was scheduled to appear in court later Friday.

The police report said Huggins told the police officer that he was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs. However, the police report said Huggins was unable to perform a field sobriety test, had slurred speech, red, watery eyes and staggered out of the car after he was stopped.

The report said there was a strong odor of alcohol and vomit on the driver's side door.

Huggins was arrested and brought to the village's police station, where he was picked up by his wife.

Will he resign?

Isn't UC a Catholic school?

Will he do the honorable thing and resign?

Last question, has he graduated anybody yet?

Too bad none of his players ever graduate. He could use a lawyer.

A Cincy radio station is reporting that Huggins will be fired. In this day and age, they almost have to.

A chance to clean up the program, perhaps. Horrendous graduation rates, multiple run-ins with the law by different players under his watch.

One amazing stat, Cincy's only been to 1 FF in 15 years under his tenure. I guess there's hype, even in the Midwest. With his rep, one would think that he would have had several FF's.

If he gets axed, I wonder how long it will take for the "Pasnter or Tention to UC" rumors to start.

I heard on ESPN news that the police officers asked him when he stopped drinking and he said, "No sir." They also asked to recite the alphabet and he screwed it up big time.

Cincinnati Coach Bob Huggins Suspended

By JOE KAY
CINCINNATI (AP) - Cincinnati basketball coach Bob Huggins was suspended indefinitely by the school Saturday after he was charged with drunken driving.

Athletic director Bob Goin said the suspension, with pay, will allow Huggins to "update his life priorities" and "address any personal matters he has ignored."

No date was set for Huggins' return, but Goin said he wants the coach back this season.

"I'm placing Bobby on mandatory suspension, completely away from the demands of his job," Goin

Taylor, that was just too funny! I can't imagine that Cincy is keeping the Hug on staff, but that's what it sounds like. I wonder if the "personal assessment" includes treatment.

Uh, I'd call that a "failed" sobriety test.

I always knew huggy bear was a classy guy, but WTF? He actually went to recruits houses wearing his Cincy warm-ups? I thought that idiotic look went out of style when Tark parted ways with the Run and Gun Rebels. Huggy's bringin' back the warm-ups and gold chain!

LOL, I hope he showered, at least.
