Ron Artest will retire. I heard reports that his team suspension earlier this season was initiated when he went to Rick Carlisle wanting to retire, not the music stuff, not asking for time off to spend time with his family, but to retire and spend more time on things other than basketball. He made public comments about retiring at the end of this year possibly, and since this is essentially the end of the year for him, although I have other thoughts on that, I think that he will retire from the game now.

My thoughts on his 73 game suspension is that it absolutely will not hold up. There will be an appeal from the players assosciation by the end of the week, and the suspension will be reduced, just as it happened in the Spreewell incident.

Actually I heard that about a week ago in an interview with Artest where he stated, "I'm a grown man. If I want to retire or take a month of or whatever, I don't need permission."

But I don't think he'll retire becuase he'll need the money for all the lawsuits and legal charges...

I always thought he was the most overrated player in the NBA. So let him be the most overrated player NOT in the NBA.

ChiC agree 100%. Let him "retire", plenty of Rodmans out there. NBA will go on with or without him. The village idiot needs to appreciate what he may loose because of his actions.
