Football team better than basketball team next year

Do you think the football team will ever be better than the basketball team. Well i think that year is coming sooner than we all expected. I think that next year we will be better in football than basketball because we are going to be an experienced team next year for football. what do you guys think

I don't think comparing football and basketball success is even possible. Next year we will be good in basketball and possibly good in football (at least better than this year). For me to agree that football is better than basketball, though, we will have to go about 8-4 and win a bowl and lose in the second round or earlier in the NCAA tournament in basketball. One of these things may happen but having both occur seems unlikely.

We finished the season ranked #4 in the country in 1998. Seems like that already happened.

Also, you can't compare rankings in football to rankings in basketball. Success in football is measured by the polls, but in basketball it's measured by how far you get in the tournament.

ok, in 1998 we were #4 in the country, in 1998 we weren't in the FF.

Still no way in hell football was better than that '98 hoops team. 17-1 Pac-10 record, only loss a huge fluke, ranked #1 at times, four 1st team All-Americans in the backcourt rotation alone, easily beat eventual national champ Kentucky early on, cruised to the Elite Eight and lost to a hot team when entire AZ team suddenly went cold.

UCLA beat Arizona's best-ever football team by 30 points and best win was over a fading Nebraska bunch that wasn't even good.

If anything, AZ hoops is going to get much better next year while football again rises slowly

1994 was a wash. Football team goes 10-2, including blanking Miami 29-0 in the Fiesta Bowl. Basketball team goes 29-6, losing to eventual National Champion Arkansas in the Final Four in Charlotte.

However, the following year, the Football team performed better than the Basketball team.

Football goes 8-4, including a win over Georgia Tech in Atlanta to start the year. They end up losing the Freedom Bowl to Utah by 3.

The Basketball team goes 24-7, finishes 2nd in the PAC-10. However, they also have two losses to NCAA Tournament-bound ASU (unacceptable under any conditions). Then they lose by nine to Miami (OH) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament; ASU makes the Sweet Sixteen.
