2004 targets intensified
A source close to Darius Washington told me yesterday that Rodney Tention will fly down to meet with the family sometime next week but that the superstar guard from Orlando "wants to meet with head coaches only at this point." The source also said that both parties remained very interested in one another. However, UA-bound Jawann McClellan told me that "Shaun Livingston is an even bigger priority than Darius. We want him BADLY! Him and Mohamed Tangara." *Josh Pastner was in Dallas on Tuesday visiting 2004 PG Jason Horton and PF LaMarcus Aldridge. Aldridge, however, according to McClellan, has narrowed his final list to Texas, Oklahoma and Florida. *Texas-bound Daniel Gibson will make his return to action on Friday at the Houston Kingwood Classic. D-Gib had been out for a few weeks with a broken hand. Gibson will join McClellan in the backcourt for the Houston Hoops. *McClellan has switched permanently from Houston Select to the Hoops but will still attend the adidas-sponsored ABCD camp this summer in Teaneck, NJ. Gibson wil return to Nike. *Jordan Farmar has reportedly switched from the adidas Pump 'n Run AAU team to the Nike California Team Select and will play in Houston this weekend. This is a surprise to just about everyone. More later. -Ben |

Does this mean Arizona is out of the hunt for Gabe Pruitt? Or he is no longer a priority?

Ben, Another Name
Ben, I was watching a couple of Marquette recruits at a Michigan HS All-Star game last Saturday and sat with the Detroit Denby HS coach. He told me that the Arizona Wildcats (as well as Kentucky, Miami and Ark.) love his player, 6'2 junior Rico Harris.
Take it for what its worth but I found this coach to be on the up and up. |

MU, which AAU team does Rico play for?
Is he a shooting guard? point guard? or combo guard?

Rico Harris is a top flight point guard. His teammate, 6'4 junior Darryl Garrett has already commited to Xavier.

Shaun Livingston is as much of a lock for Illinois as Gibson was for Texas. Everywhere this kid goes he's dressed in Illini clothes. If anyone other than Illinois lands this kid, they will have pulled the biggest upset since Arizona v. Kansas in 1997!

Livingston has cooled on the Illini since Self left. Rumor is Arizona and Florida are now the frontrunners. I wouldn't write off Illinois, but they took a hit when Self left.

I can't believe that I'm responding to any of Fuego's drivel but

Enlighten us Fuegs on how many times you've seen Shaun in Illinois clothes. Oh, you've only seen in him pictures? But you've read that right? What a joke. |

So tell me all knowing one...

By the way, those Illini fans are frenzied about their local talent and post tons of photos from basketball events. I would venture to guess, at least from reading anything you have written actually basketball and not recruiting related, my knowledge of basketball is at least equal to, but probably greater than yours. I could be wrong. |
