Who else here is surprised that Wazzu is the 3rd ranked team in the nation? I am! OVER-rrrated!!! I myself would take in Oklahoma or Iowa at #3 way before WSU. Not a hater, just seeing things in a realistic manner. ((BTW, this was in the ESPN/USA Today coaches poll))

I don't have any particular affection for Wazzu either, but why get upset about a PAC-10 team being highly rated and in the middle of the national championship race. Michigan beating Ohio State or Virginia Tech beating Miami would put Washington State in the Fiesta Bowl....after Oregon's near-miss last year I think that'd go a long way towards raising the national profile of PAC-10 football, and that seems like a pretty good thing to me.

The cougs have rebounded well from their loss to Ohio State. I wonder If the buckeyes lose, would that also lower WSU in the rankings.

I am happy that a Pac-10 team is top 5 nationally, don't get me wrong. I just think that they haven't shown me enough to deserve a #3 ranking. I think that both Oklahoma and Iowa play in much tougher conferences and have proven that they are deserving of the rankings. If Wazzu wins out they are headed to a big name bowl. Question to all of you... What if OK, Iowa, and Ohio State lose? Not likely to happen, but everything's possible. Is Wazzu worthy enough to take on Miami? My immediate belief is NO. I think they'd get blown out of the National title game. As for Oregon last year, they got cheated and deserved a shot at Miami. I think they would've taken home the hardware.
