Rivals Pre Season Top 25

This thing is 3 weeks old, but I had not seen it and didn't see it posted on this board.

Arizona didn't make the cut, but did receive votes.

i would have been frightened if arizona made the cut. the receiving votes though is nice. we are primed to start contending.

Hater is right, just receiving votes is cool. So who determines the Rivals poll, the Rivals staff?

I would not want to be in the Top 25. Im sure I feel the same way Stoops and some of the players feel. Let them earn it, dont give it to them. We do not belong in the Top 25, yet. Votes are fine, but I would rather take the nation by storm, rather then being a preseason Top 25.

While its an honor to be in the top 25, these cats haven't proved anything yet. I like the fact that we will be able to sneak up on some times at the beginning next year(LSU or USC). If we can knock off one of those teams we will be ranked in the top 25.

yea if we start out the season 3-1 with wins over byu, sfa, lsu/usc then we might sneak in at like 24th or so.

what a bad year to be playing lsu so early in the season

. lets hope the defense is all its supposed to be very early in the year and that our offense can put up enough points to keep the defense off the field long enough to stay fresh and confident. whats the scouting report on the lsu defense for next year?

LSU is loaded, particularly on defense. They would be a strong title contender if their schedule wasn't so brutal.

It's hard to win a championship coming out of the SEC. Alabama, Tennessee, LSU, Florida, Georgia, and Auburn are all likely top-15 teams.

LSU is extremely fast. They have arguably the best DB in the country coming back in Landry, and solid secondary all around. Only chance is to run the ball early and often, and hope their revolving door of QBs turn the ball over a couple times.

LSU also looses a ton of players to graduation and the draft. Hopefully, our experience this early in the season helps somewhat.

Other than that, should be a tough one.
